Cracking little winter knock
We paid £8.99 for the round and at this price it’s an absolute steal. The course was in good condition for the time of year, especially with the weather we have had of late, some local courses were still closed on the day we played. We received a warm welcome on arrival and the steward on in the club house advised us on the local rules and we got going. It’s a testing little course with some cracking holes, and it’s a good hike up and down for those wanting to bag some calories. Most memorable point from the day are some of the views, those alone are worth the green fees. Thank you for a brilliant winter golf experience and for being so friendly to us as visitors.
Excellent course
First time playing and new to golf. excellent course. greens, fairway and rough in excellent condition considering it was middle of winter
Lakeland Views
Fantastic undulating hilltop course.
Fantastic greens and surprisingly well drained considering the rain this year that has closed many courses.
The shot over field fences is fun.
Excellent course
Excellent course in fantastic condition with outstanding location and stunning scenery.
Best value in ages
Was recommended by a friend and loved it. Cant imagine a better setting to play golf. Lucky with the weather so got amazing views on every hole. I thought it was in good condition especially considering time of year. It proves that a course doesn't have to be long to be enjoyable and fun to play. Really friendly members that I met too. Will definitely be back.
Good course stunning views
Cracking little course I’d recommend getting a buggy if your not a fan of hills, the greens could do with a little tlc but nothing to spoil your round a few blind shots to make things interesting, I was playing on my own and got held up a bit by a four ball, but I wasn’t expecting to get let through but when they did I flew around, overall I’d happily play here again
Poor greens
Very disappointed with this visit, the greens are in a terrible condition for the time of year. Not sure what they have done to them but have huge random dead grass lines around 10 cm wide gouged out across the green, some 1 cm deep! Vast majority are unplayable which spoilt the day. Still at full price so will not be returning I'm afraid..
Great course and views downside no staff in club house at end of round which was about 3.15 pm
Course was lovely, staff were hiding
Great course that played really well with stunning views. The clubhouse was closed (happens on Monday apparently) no staff to meet us nowhere to buy a drink etc. We hadn’t brought anything with us and couldn’t buy anything before or after.
some tough uphill holes fantastic scenery small greens made it a tough test
James Braid excellence!
Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. Although many holes appeared short on the card, the brisk north-easterly wind, the strategically positioned grass bunkers, postage stamp greens (excellent for the time of year), not to mention the undulating fairways, meant yardages became merely a guide as opposed to a given. And the views! Not played many courses with better. Proof once more that you don't need 7,000 yards to test your skills. Will be back!
Great course especially in winter
Fantastic. Compared to other courses in Cumbria after rain it was in great condition. Only a short course but lots of fun. Staff in the clubhouse were very friendly and looked after us.
