Payed for a tee time at fairlop waters last Saturday to go Sunday
Amd the course has been closed since March still haven't got my money back
Not open in 2020
This course isnt open for the 2020/21 season but is still allowing bookings.
The course runs through a fairly populated park so not sure how that will actually play out when open.
COURSE CLOSED
Booked to play on the weekend and when showed up the course was CLOSED not sure why it is still on the app and very embarrassing to take a mate to play and then show up to it not even being open. Not sure how I get my money back all round disaster. Please AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Poor fairways and greens
On my last round of this course the fairways were cut so short it felt like playing off of the mats on the range. It made iron play ridiculously tricky and was actually better playing from the rough than on the fairways. Also the greens were very patchy so bits had grass and then some parts were rock hard so you could get bounce straight off of the green. All in all its not the first I've been disappointed with this course and will be not going back to it even though its my local course.
decent but could be better maintained
Good course with few players on it (could've been cos it was an overcast and windy day) with nice amenities (especially cheap beers at £3 a pint!). Course is quite long and some of the fairways could've been wider - once you are in the rough the grass is very long and challenging to find balls in (even if just off the fairway). Some greens could also of done with a sweep.
Royal St George’s Golf Package
Genuinely the worst condition I have ever seen. Grass on the tee boxes was 2-3 inches long, greens were rock hard and don't get watered and also incredibly slow. The rough was a jungle. If you went a foot in to the heavy stuff your ball was gone.
Avoid - there are much better cheap courses nearby. Check Ilford which at least has green keepers.
