Good condition despite wet weather.
Greens in great condition despite heavy rain closing many courses. Friendly staff and players
Friendly club
Enjoyed my first visit to Harwood GC with course in very good shape and members who joined me for a number of holes very friendly and welcoming.. Pace of play was a touch slow but understandable given competition groups ahead and the difficult weather conditions..
Wouldn’t play again
1 Greens are poor full of sand feels like your playing on Astro turf
2 More red stakes are needed to give more guidance when approaching greens
3 The scorecard has a print error with 2 holes having the same stroke index
Not pointed out in club shop
:4 Semi rough needs cutting ( feels like your playing in a farmers field )
5 Overpriced for the state of the course £35
6 Random trees scattered on fairways
horses for courses
far too expensive at £28 a round, however great bacon & sausage barms, greens were slow, but that's just my feeling, i recently played the dukes & the Torrance & they weren't fast either, but the main problem was 3 greens which had horse hoof prints on them, but they put a temp green on without telling us & one of our party can drive 340 & he wasn't too pleased when he had to chip back 100 yards from the green to the temp, also some very short holes on this course & some fairways far too close together, in my opinion its worth £15 max
Excellent condition. Very good green to tee directions. Freindly staff. Great value for money.
Great views
Great course will definitely be going back again soon
Excellent course to think your way around
Got a really friendly welcome from the guy in the shop. Which is always a great way to start a visit to a course for the first time. He warned us that the greens were quick, to which I replied overconfidently that we like it that way. What he didn't say was how undulating they were and the evil pin positions on some holes. Putting is the strength of my very below average golf game and I three putted three times and four putted once!
The course is made using the landscape that is there, the front 9 being quite hilly and there are a number of elevation changes and slopes to consider. But its not overly long. Think I played my driver for the first time on the 8th. You have to think your way around. The back nine is flatter with a few wide open fairways included back to back par 5's, the first reachable in two, the second probably not (unless you can carry the stream at 280). Some interesting short par three's which look simple from the tee but are well protected and require accuracy.
Really enjoyed the round and would recommend it and will return again. Harder than it looks on paper but in great condition, well planned and signed, (only the 17th tee was a guess, but if you pay attention earlier in the round you'll know exactly where to go). Enjoy the golf and the views over Bolton.

Great couse ,enjoyed our round apart from a lady member interfering, telling use how we should play golf.and trying to rush our game play. Even though our golf was better than she thought, see you later.
A course of distinction
Rolling hills for the front 9 and a flatter back 9 with some great holes to enjoy. Some very undulating greens give plenty of protection the shorter holes and breathtaking views to boot.
Practice putting green by the pros shop and a full sized practice area a few minutes walk away means you can be ready for when you start your round.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to play again.
Decent
Take a defib for first 8 holes. Course in good condition.
Augusta like greens
An amazing course - not long but great strategy required.
On the practice putting green you may be fooled into thinking your in for an easy ride - but after the first few easy holes, things begin to change!
Hilly first 9 with tremendous views, but by the time you've putted out on the 4th you'll be beginning to realise you are in for a challenging time.
Can't comment on facilities due to covid, but the pro and the members were superb. Heading back soon.
