What happened to the course?

Played this course 8 years ago it was the best course in the county. Tight and tough. The slash and burn policy has removed everything that made the course great. Trees removed, bunkers filled in and bushes cut down. A reasonable society course but no longer a good challenge of golf.

I used to be junior captain here 15 years ago. Played yesterday and can’t believe the amount that’s been cut down and the bunkers on the 1st being filled in. Don’t understand why you would me the course easier and more open. I was disappointed.

Lovely course

Greens a little hard , making it play like links golf. Some fairways not recovered from last years weather and had bare , scruffy areas but generally very good. Live locally and would definitely return for the price.

Great layout

Holme hall is a great winter course with a great layout and what I would call a proper golf course with well placed hazards. The tees and greens were in fantastic condition for this time of year but the fairways are bare in places and also a lot of digits about.

Perfect weather
Walked

Friendly staff and easy walking on the course.

Fairways dry, greens fast and in very good condition, some tee shots are very intimidating; all in all an excellent course. Pro shop and greens staff were very friendly.

Good all round course

Course in good condition considering the very hot weather we have been experiencing. An easy walking course but buggies available if needed. A course to suit most abilities.

well designed course

the tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition, the greens were good and well manicured but a little long on this day. they played very slow with little or no break but difficult to judge pace. I have played before with shorter grass on the greens and they proved to be excellent, play was a bit slow due to a large tournament on in front of myself. would recommend this course for its layout and great value for money.

This is a course is a favorite of mine

Played here many times in winter and summer. Always in good condition. Even when there has been plenty of rain. Good challenge for all levels of golfer, with a good selection of interesting holes and greens. Well worth playing. We will definately be back in the summer.

holme hall

found the course in great condition, fast greens
only downside was the bunkers,it was like playing out of hard concrete, they could do with a good turning over/raking
it was very windy on the day,and we were tired(having played 18 holes earlier that day) so our game wasnt at its best
but have booked to play again so hope to better appreciate the course
lovely clubhouse and friendly staff

Absolute gem

Played this course a handful of times and it never disappoints. Well maintained and with very good greens.
Pro shop staff very welcoming and helpful.
Worth keeping an eye out for the special offer tee times on Teeofftimes.co.uk as the normal prices are not cheap.

Golf as you expect

First class venue. Winter golf is no problem here. Played it twice in February once in March when home club was shut due to weather. Fairways and greens really good. Greens especially.no temps .recommend this course no problem. Also the booking system.a doddle.
