Should've been closed!
We arrived with a course closed sign on the pro shop, then to a member of staff stating its wet just remember you've only paid £20 so don't complain? i found this very strange and concerning.
I then went on England Gold to record my round as i always do and it wouldn't let me as "the course was closed" in the morning i received a text from the course stating "Carry only"
The course was not set up to play for example the fairways were at least 3 inches long and difficult to even determine what was a fairway versus the rough, we'd traveled 25 miles to play. The ground was sodden, ducks on the fairways in pools of water and after 4 holes i'd lost 5 balls even after hitting the fairways. Even on the highest point of the course it was sodden, many holes un-walkable. After 11 holes we walked in covered in mud and completely disinterested.
i appreciate the staff member said its wet but it was unplayable and i'd have much rather received a message saying it was closed rather than wasting our time and the cost of multiple titleist Pro balls!!
It may be a nice course in dry weather and being mowed however very disappointed with the course and their responsibilities to paying players and Golf Now for not stepping in. On this day it was about taking our money not playing golf. I can only comment on the day we were there.
Not cut and not looked after greens are ok
Terrible Ground Quality
If you are unable to cut the grass on the fairways to the point it is like playing in rough, then why keep the course open and charge £30 a round (summer golf prices).
I understand the rain and weather we have had but there is no excuse to stay open if its impossible to find you ball in the middle of the fairway due to long grass and soft ground.
Not happy at all.
Not a bad course in the summer but feel very ripped off when the course condition is so poor.
Worst service I’ve received from a course!
Had a 4 ball booked three weeks ago which was cancelled due to the course being water logged. Upon booking payment was taken in full (£120). Three weeks later I’ve still not been refunded! Called the pro shop multiple times and the hotel only to be promised it would be sorted and still nothing. Absolutely disgraceful business practices. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!
Great course. 17th hole is the best about!
Great first time attending this course. Great and challenging for all levels of ability. The course was quite wet but to be expected at this time of year. Given circumstances I’d give it a 4/5. I’d like to imagine that during dry months, it would be pristine. The 17th hole is the best I’ve played on, a lake separating the tee and the green. Check the photos I took from the green! Will be returning!
Course had some great holes
Enjoyed the course, quite hilly, some good challenging holes, shot gross 80
Course is in fabulous condition
The course is in fabulous condition, and the greens are immaculate. I would recommend anyone visiting Stratford to go and play it, then follow it up with a pint in the garden

Should be a lot better
I was really looking forward to playing this course, I heard great things about it from my days at Sandwell park GC. I got there just before my tee time I thought I was teeing off 50 mins later. The pro in the golf shop could not have been more helpful. Made our way to the first tee full of anticipation. Teeing areas were great, we tee’d off only to be disappointed by the condition of the fairways you could have lost a ball on some, there was no first cut then rough, just poorly cut fairways then rough. Got to say the greens were really good. Over all there are better golf courses in the area for the money. The staff in the club house all seemed friendly. Left feeling frustrated that they have a great golf course but they are letting them selves down by the condition of the fairways. If they could sort out the fairway I would recommend it.
Hilly
The course is very hilly and still very wet in places at the end of April. Greens were OK but the fairway grass was long.
Not in good condition
I've played here a few times over the years, normally during the Summer. It's been a cool and wet Spring so I wasn't expecting much from the course however I was surprised how poor it was. Very wet in places and the course was generally a bit tatty! Greens were also slow and bobbly. £25 for a twilight green fee when we could only play 14 holes was poor value. Course was empty so no problems with pace. Highlight was the beer in the bar afterwards.
Slow!! A shame but so slow!!
Played today for the first time and it was painfully slow.
Groups of 4 balls not letting people play through. Honestly it was painful, the 2 ball infront of us walked off after 12 holes.
It’s a shame because the course was nice and in great condition given the time of year.
One of my top 3 courses
As always excellent
Course played really really well
Not easy but a good test of where your game is
Lovely course & a unbelievable price.
Played at Stratford Park a number of times & it never disappoints. Cracking little course, always in excellent condition & is unreal value for money compared to what some courses charge for a round. Highly recommend playing here.
