Great course love playing hear
All good to return here friendly great club house friendly service good food and drink options
The greens need some work, very sandy and hard, ball bobbled around a bit but the rest of the course was great
Lydd golf course
Our round of golf at lydd was excellent from the time we got in the clubhouse for breakfast ,onto the driving range and as for the golf course . Very good condition for the time of year greens were good pace and very true . Course layout is not for the faint hearted water on most holes and tricky to know how long you can drive on some . Overall I would say a fantastic day on an excellent course and brilliant value for money
Happy day
Certainly a welcome golf experience...they certainly have got the write attitude to business and golf experience considering how much rain there's been staff have done a great job ..pro staff happy to serve with great attitude 😀..restaurant staff happy polite nothing to much trouble ...highly recommend this course..enjoyed the whole experience
Exceptional Value for Money
Course was in fantastic condition. Greens were superb quick and true. One of the nicest courses i have played for a long time and £25 on a weekend is unbelievable Value.
Highly recommended.
Great condition, tricky course
Rolled up and played just before lunch on a Saturday. Ended up getting paired with another 2 ball. Given there was a big dump of rain tge night before the course handled it really well and showed no trace apart from a few stodgey bits between greens and tee boxes bit didn't affect play.
Pace of Play was above average, we had to wait on a few tee boxes on tge back 9 but only for a minute or two as there was a few 4 balls stacked ahead of us.
The course itself isn't playing that long but with water on almost every hole you have to take your medicine and really think about your shot selection. Bunkers protect the greens and fairways in parts but it is open enough to not be too restricted. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Greens were really good condition and rolled great.
For a round in the middle of February, this course is in fantastic condition and probablybas good as you'll get for many many miles.
Good conditions even in winter.
I have visited this course in every season and can say it has always been a very extremely playable course. The presence of ponds, streams and lakes make for a good challenge. And makes you get creative in windy conditions. Will be a regular visitor.
Had I lived slightly closer I may have become a member.
Great winter course
Great winter course greens had been top dressed but were still running true and in good condition.
Old boys open
Nice course greens in good condition pace ply was good throughly recommend a visit and will come back and play again
Rather windy
It was a pleasure to play Lydd golf course this Wednesday. Apart from the 30mph winds for most it. Course was in very good condition, as good as we have played this year. Nice to see the bunkers with a decent amount of sand in each of them. Very impressed with course. To top it off they Mcewans export on draft. We had a great visit
Not much to fault !
Nice windy day at Lydd averaging 25mph which made things interesting. Bunkers could do with some topping up and filtering but apart from this the course is in excellent condition. Great value and good food is always available in the club house, from very friendly staff. Totally recommended if you are in the Rye East Sussex area.
Always a challenge
Always love playing at lydd. Challenging course even without the gale force winds coming from the coast. Course was in excellent condition.
Lydd
For value Lydd is tough to beat. It's a hard course especially off the white tees. Lots of water and rough if you find it.
10/10 for value though.
Lydd rating
Recent course alterations have not improved the course original layout was much better than now.
A 1-ball shouldn’t take 5 hours
Held up by 4-ball who believed they were not allowed to let faster players through due to playing in a competition. Never heard of that before in my life! Couldn’t have been much of a competition as I pointed out where a 30 yard drive ended up as they walked by it and they just said throw us the ball! They could barely play, and took an age to play a hole. Ended up by skipping onto different holes on the back 9 so I could actually get home before it was dark. Totally ruined the day.
