Lovely round
I've not played here in over 10 years, so I could only remember a few holes.
The course was in good condition given the recent wet weather, the greens were very good.
There is an interesting mix of holes, a few have water hazards and these are in well thought out positions.
I was only in one bunker which wasn't quite as soft as I expected, but not sure if one is representative of all so can't comment on the quality.
We received a friendly greeting in the pro shop on signing in.
The course is picturesque, with good variability of elevation, the lakes look nice and there are swans and geese around.
The biggest let down, which they can't do anything about, is it's proximity to the A1, so it's certainly not a tranquil walk through the parkland. At no point on the course can you not hear the road and at times it's very loud.
Would definitely come back and play again.
A fabulous course
With every hole containing a challenging feature and 4 holes where you have to play over water this course is fun and challenging! This was my first visit in over 30 years and the course is better than I expected!
I absolutely love this course!
Mill Hill
Course in gr8 shape
Workers watering the greens , fairways and tee’s.
Showed up early and they let me go out as a single.
Will definitely go back again
Great condition
Lovely course it was in great condition for this time of year, Fairways were in great condition we were very impressed by it!
Mill Hill golf course
Despite lot of rain the course was reasonably good conditions.
NIce course with best drainage in NW London
Played this course a few times over the year but have to say the huge investment they have made in drainage has really paid off. It is one of the few courses in NW London that is not a bog after a lot of rain. The greens are invaraible in good shape and whilst the fairwats are recovering from having loads of drainage channels in them, the most important thingt is that they are very playable. Defo the go-to course for winter, and it is always a pleasure to play here in summer.
Magnificent Mill Hill
Considering its November and we have had heavy rain recently - every fairway was in immaculate condition. All of tbe greens were in play and the few temporary tees were easy to play off.
The bar food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great course for value
Excellent condition for the time of year, lovely layout and good greens, for a very good price
Highly recommended
The course is in fantastic condition given the weather we have had recently. The fairways were firm and well kept. The greens were running true and well looked after. Thinking of becoming a member
Golf in a swamp
Winter golf on the clay of north London is never pretty but this is certainly the boggiest excuse for a golf course I have experienced. The fairways were in terrible condition - a small minority were relatively dry to be fair but on the whole I had to pick my plugged ball out of the fairway before every shot. On two occasions my foot sunk deep into the fairway. This was not golf, hence I walked off on the 14th hole. MHGC should not be charging money at this time of the year and instead should close the course for 2-3 weeks to allow the turf time to recover. Aside from the course’s chronic drainage issues, the greens were overgrown and badly kept, resembling more a fairway on other courses in North London.
Good layout but
Played dinnertime behind 3 fourballs and very slow round . Drainage work obvious but still very wet in places after overnight rain.
Good course layout and probably a lot better to play in summer when dry and not worried about going sliding down hills.
Greens ok but just been treated etc.
Firstly by inexplicably booking 2 tee times you chose to pay £62 for a £30 green fee. The day you chose to play more than half the surrounding golf courses in the area were closed due to the rain and preceding storms so naturally the course was wet as it is located on London clay. Half the course has been drained and those holes were eminently playable. The rest will be completed this year. Your comments are grossly unreasonable.
