No Booking again
I now believe booking on Golf now creates more issue than necessary, this was my 4th booking and again when we arrived was told no booking under our name, showed our information on phone and was told well it’s not on our system, if you want to play you will have to fit in somewhere,.
Went to get a coffee before playing, sorry machine broken, can we buy some water for out on the course, sorry, only have big glass bottles, and was told sorry, very busy with the wedding that was taken place.
My recommendations are, don’t book using golf now, and don’t go when a wedding is on?
Good couple of hours
I have been meaning to go for a while and finally manger to do so . Enjoyed the variation of each hole and the course it has a very special feel to it in general !
Challenging but fun course
Enjoyable course and there seemed to be people of all different standards on the course!
Some holes are very close together it can be an tad dangerous at times when teeing off.
Lots of water hazards which my dad seemed to love so bring plenty of balls if you’re an beginner.
Overall, good value for money and enjoyable course. I wouldn’t play it a lot but worth an visit if you haven’t been. .
Box ticked
I went to the Par 3 challenge a few years ago and fancied playing this course.
It's pretty tough, because it is very tight. It was very crowded when we played so it was very difficult to get into a rhythm.
The box is ticked for another championship course but, TBH, I doubt we will play it again.
Lovely challenge
Puts a smile on our faces every time
Greens playing fast put Wow it tests your short game!! Just what I needed before a week in Scotland playing this frustrating game.
This course is excellent for anyone wanting to improve their short game as there are some very tricky holes. Lovely setting would recommend this course .
Great fun and a good challenge
We booked online and arrived to a very quiet and friendly greeting on arrival. Course had had a little damage due to mower issues but the course was still a real treat. Longest hole is about 135 yards. we played the course twice and really enjoyed the day - even though it was very hot.
My son also got a hole in one which was the cherry on the cake. A very enjoyable afternoon -thank you.
Challenging to any standard golfer
Recently played on the Cromwell course and what a treat it was. The layout is spot on and condition was brilliant
Challenging
Course is in mint condition, very challenging but great fun.
9 holes but went round twice lots of hazards and raised greens which test your short game.
Par 3 Success
With everything going on in the world you wouldn’t tell here. Amazing little course which tests all the skills my normal course would only with less walking (which is good). You can tell it’s a championship level course no doubt about it. Disappointed not to be watching the pros later this year.
What a great par 3 course , played 18 holes on my own in 1 1/2 hrs . The course played really nice even after the bad weather we have been having . Not sure about amenities cause I didn’t use them . Pace of play was great but I was one of the first to tee off .I will definitely be returning . Great place to practice iron and short game
All round poor
This course is an absolute shocker, greens are very poor with no roll and many holes on them, course layout is dangerous as your always walking into someone or hitting at a tee box with greens so close, would not be going back and definitely would not recommend it
First time visit
Four of us gathered at Nailcote Hall to play this nine hole, par 3 course for the first time. The greens in particular were in super condition for the time of year. Slight issue with newly fallen leaves, but it was autumn! Good fun learning the layout the first time around, before playing the holes again. Great venue for playing some enjoyable winter golf. Highly recommended.
Great course for improving your short game !
When played regularly this is the perfect course to improve your game and turn pars into birdies. This is a very challenging course with plenty of water and we'll positioned bunkers. The course is well maintained with immaculate greens and is very picturesque. The course is generally not too busy which allows you to go round at a relaxing pace and just using your irons.
A great short game challenge
Nailcote Hall, the annual host of the British Par 3 Championships is a test for even the lowest handicappers. Course is in great condition, with only slight areas for tidying up on the day. Playing from good quality artificial tees allowed for consistency for the 1st shot on each hole and also allowed for some extra spin, which was very much required on every hole due to the small greens on the majority of holes. Despite a couple of holes being around the 70/80 yard mark, the terrain and water features on some holes means that no hole is straightforward at Nailcote and each shot requires your full, undivided attention if you which to achieve par or better. The greens were true, with very few if any 'bobbles' noticed, if not a little slow on the day I played. I played the course the day before a week's golf holiday and this experience undoubtedly sharpened up my short game for the challenging courses to come. One of the highlights was the pace of play, in a 2-ball, we completed 18 holes (2x9) within 2 and a half hours, which was ideal. Would recommend Nailcote Hall to anyone looking for an idyllic Par 3 course with a twist.
Good layout for small course
Really enjoyable morning with two friends who haven't played before-Alot harder then it looks-Great course to improve you short iron game-Lots of little hidden obstacles -Friendly/Helpful staff but not to happy about x3 coffees costing £12 .50 and no disposables to drink from-Other then that would definatly play again
Trying too hard
This par 3 course has far too many flaws that stop you being able to enjoy it. It only has poor quality mats for the tees which make clean ball striking a challenge, add into that the fast pace small greens and copious hazards and it really is a nightmare. The volume and nature of the hazards give the impression that this course is trying far to hard to make up for the shorter length of some holes.
