Brilliant course!

I played this course just to “try something a bit different” so I had no expectations at all.

I left the course feeling it was probably the best course I have played in this country. Don’t get me wrong, I’m just the average player paying average rates (no £100 courses for me).

The first two holes don’t give you any idea of what waits for you from the 3rd onwards. The layout was brilliant, the condition was excellent! It’s not the longest course, but the layout doesn’t make it feel short either. A good variation of ups and downs, doglegs and hazards. Perfect for me. I play off a 15 and feel it would be testing if you weren’t on your game.

Lovely bar staff after the round as well. Overall a great day on and off the course!

I definitely recommend to give it a go!

Andy.

Brilliant

What a stunning course and conditions couldn’t have been better. Don’t be put off by the course playing short. This course has been well designed with things to think about/navigate on nearly every hole. Green are tricky with a lovely run! You won’t be disappointed!

Hidden perils and slow play - not that enjoyable

Perhaps I should have studied the course more closely before playing but, as I didn't, its hidden perils tripped me up and, combined with a funereal society group ahead of us, made for a poor afternoon's entertainment. Going off-line on the many tree-lined narrow fairways is punished harshly (precipitate 30 foot drops; impenetrable undergrowth/bushes) and this suggests this is a course either for those who play it (or want to play it) regularly or are assured straight hitters. For a first-timer, the greens are nightmarishly difficult, If you are an average golfer playing Puttenham for the first time, the best advice seems to be "do your research, play defensively and expect a pasting on the greens."

Lovely day out

Well established course in the Surrey countryside which offers a really pleasant round in a lovely setting. Some of the rough is unforgiving but not unreasonably so. Love the coffee hut at halfway.
