Not Enjoyable

Played in strong winds and boggy ground which didn't help, but I didn't enjoy the course at all. Too many holes identical to each other so feels like you are endlessly playing the same hole. Greens in poor condition as well

Great course

Course was very fun to play, conditions were very wet though (can’t be helped I know). Would love to play it again in the Summer.

Pro Shop staff were friendly enough but I found the Clubhouse/Bar staff quite rude. Couldn’t serve us a drink afterward and couldn’t explain why…? Bit odd.

I would go back once more to see if attitude differed.

Value for money

Other local courses were closed due to weather so we tried rodway hill which was pleasantly dry. Good value for money at less than £20 a man on the weekend.

Great Value - Not Enjoyable

This is an ever improving course with some spectacular holes and good challenge. There are also a few holes that seem to be replicas of each other. However, I won’t ever play this course again in wet conditions. It was boggy, difficult to walk and impossible to play in places, hence the lack of enjoyment. Despite this, had it been drier, the value for money is excellent and the service in the golf shop was superb and friendly. I’d recommend the course - any time when it’s dry, and not at any time after persistent rain.

Needs work but worth it if on offer.

The greens were disappointing , haven’t been rolled whatsoever, proper bobbly, almost impossible to get a straight putt (bounces off right or left). Rest of the course was lovely, great views not too difficult. The greens are the only thing that lets it down.

Lack of focus from the groundsman.

Came to the 9 th green and the groundsman was in his tractor spiking the green. Underrstand he has a job to do and the 4 of us accepted this. We all got to the green and the groundsman got out of his tractor as we were about to putt and fired up his petrol blower to blow off the green as we putted. Come on guys, he only had to wait two minutes. Poor really. Total lack of customer focus. Otherwise known as ignorance.

A good course for mid-handicapppers

This is a good course for mid-handicapppers to score well on, a single figure handicapper will also play well but big hits off line could be OB !!

Good course overall, not the greatest conditions but a solid 7/10.

A good course for mid-handicapppers

Played this course on 25th July 2021 for the 4th time in my golf career and shot 79, playing off 14, it is in the best condition it's been for years. I played with a mate that played off 2.2 and he shot 70....highly recommended for mid-handicappers and also single figure handicappers who want to shoot a good score.

Good Value For Money

Compact and fairly open course, ideal for beginners. A few holes a bit up and down with a couple of Par 3 feeling a little like they were squeezed in to make it 18. That said some holes really challenge, particularly the up hill sections. Great views back over Gloucester from the top of the course. Tees and fairways in ok condition as were the greens. Most greens are shaped like an up turned saucer and, unless very accurate with approaches, there’s a real likelihood of running off. The round was a little slow, but that’s to be expected on beautifully sunny Saturday afternoon. Long, pristine and exclusive Rodway Hills is definitely not, but if you’re after good value and a great place for beginners/infrequent golfers then you won’t go far wrong.

Hidden Gem

Excellent course to play, the holes were challenging and fun. Greens are mostly flat with some more difficult gradients.
