Shirehampton Golf Club

Played as guests from Lilleybrook GC in a 4 ball and very impressed at the compact layout. Don’t be put off by the overall yardage - more par 3’s than normal but many of the par 4’s are a decent challenge. Greens were in great condition. Pro shop has some great stock and the staff were super friendly. Great day out - you should give it a try for sure.

seems the clubs online booking system is not synced with golf now so my tee time was double booked!!
The member who was double booked was quite aggressive in his attitude towards my group which wasn't appreciated. So if booking consult the club directly.to avoid a similar experience.

Sufficiently challenging holes. Some greens need attention from green keepers. All in all a good walk not wasted.

Enjoyed course. Well maintained except for some of the greens.

I always enjoy Shirehampton. Yes it's not the longest and the lay out maybe a bit confusing to new comers but that's because it's an old course and no worse for it.
This round was great value (under £20 for a Saturday pm), very few other people around and my partner got a hole in one on the 6th, so bought all of 4 people a drink in the friendly bar afterwards!

Poor course wouldn’t recommend it to any friends o direction of where any holes are, always temporary tee matts greens poor only decent thing about the day was the weather as it didn’t rain

Personally I liked the course...I played here about 2 years ago and recalled it being slightly confusing though. There are a number of holes that would benefit from having directions as to where the next tee is. Course was in ok condition...greens weren't great, although I think some work has recently been done on them. If you're playing here be prepared for some hilly walks...tight fairways and some fairly small greens. Decent value for money and I would probably return.

After a heavy fall of rain the night before playing I thought the course would be soggy......but not the case. Well looked after by the staff.
On the way round they were most
enthusiastic about their job and talking about the greens.
Club house staff were extremely friendly and could not be more helpful.......had a light lunch there, service was great.
Will be back as a result of the above.......well done Shire........showing the way for a lot of other clubs.

Played on a lovely Sunday afternoon/evening and were only people on the course. Good condition, variety of interesting holes; hills to keep you fit; stunning views over the Avon and beyond. Friendly staff and very good value green fee deal (£14 each!)

Downsides - course very tight which I imagine can be a problem when busy. Public allowed access to course - we had to wait five minutes for a toddler on a tricicle on the fairway!

Overall though - highly recommended

Some challenging holes with lots of variations in Dog Legs, Up and Down hill Tee offs. Good clear,maintained Fairways. Smaller than average Greens but ok condition. Friendly Staff and a very good Pro shop.
Will definitely play again.
