First and last
First time playing this course and will 100% be the last. Horrendously kept course, more weed and grass on most fairways. Absolute ripoff for £35! The course wasn’t managed well as we were held up by a 6 ball for the front 9.
Only bonus was the owner/staff were very friendly and chatty at the end of the round.
Good course Great condition
Course was in great condition. Surprisingly empty for an Easter Sunday.
Beautiful course but
Super course and lots of challenging holes. Quite long so good for big drivers. However greens are pretty poor condition, fix that and this a great course. Very good value for money.
Very poor
I've played this course a good few times and it's always OK, but the condition of the fairways and greens are extremely poor. The lack of investment is clearly in the course is showing which is a shame. In the right hands this has the potential to be a decent course.
I would avoid at all cost!
Great course. Stunning views
The course was in amazing condition. Empty also. I was surprised not now people were playing. Great value. I will be back.
Generally Good Condition
The course was in a generally good condition apart from the greens, a lot of which were a bit hard and bumpy. Ironically, given it is only March, the course could do with being watered.
Might As Well Putt in the Car Park
Dreadful, Dreadful, Dreadful, Dreadful. Don’t waste your time, course is in dreadful state as has been the case on all of my visits. Clearly no investment is made in improving the greens. Should cost no more than £10 to play here, such a shame to see a course fall into this state.
Course was high handicap friendly
Course layout was better than expected, with wide fairways and scoring opportunities.
We were waiting on the tees on most holes as the groupings were squeezed together for latecomers.
Greens need a bit of work, but overall course conditions were a joy, considering the weather.
Course in great condition
Despite recent rain, the course was in great condition - with pristine fairways and good quality greens. Some bunkers were better than others, but to be expected given time of year and degree of rainfall.
Fairways are fairly wide, although a good degree of undulation keeps things interesting. Green placement presents challenging approach shots, and general layout is good.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Range would benefit from fresh mats, but otherwise no complaints for the price / convenience.
Enjoyed and will happily return.
Golf
First time playing this course, the course has enough challenges whilst being fairly open.
Staff are brilliant and there to help if you need it. The nicest club staff we’ve encountered.
The Hampshire
Beautiful setting and very well kept course. Would definitely play again
A good course for the big sticks
Tee boxes and fairways were all great. Where holes were side by side, mid rough was all mowed back making it very gettable. Can imagine that changes significantly when the rough is tall and balls can be lost much easier.
Downside was green conditions which were a mixture of people not repairing any divots and the subsequent longer term damage that caused as well. Quite bumpy / damaged in places.
Being an elevated course, wind definitely plays a part in upping the challenge but also means some fantastic views from tee boxes and greens!
Great views, open and honest golf course
Great views, open and honest golf course that was excellent value for money. Wide open fairways with some stunning views across the Hampshire countryside. Its defences is in and around the greens where you need to be accurate, and get the speed of the greens early doors. There’s a couple of great dog leg risk reward holes (9th) and I think 17 where fortune favors the brave to drive over the corners and OB.
Great place to play
Great atmosphere as you walk into the proshop.
Sets you up for the round. Been having rubbish rounds lately so wasn't looking forward to the golf. However with the atmosphere in and around the building made me feel somewhat better.
Always love the views at this course, the greens have come on so much better over the last year and the fairways are fantastic. the tee boxes are still need a little tlc, but overall great improvement.
Will be playing here alot more.
Value for money
Good course. Some greens have been attacked by birds but otherwise fine. Staff mostly friendly. Course not too busy.
Potential to be so much better
Much like my old school report, the Hampshire could do so, so much better. The layout and course itself is truly spectacular but there is nothing else. Always surprises me at why the clubhouse, pro-shop, bar and restaurant are literally non-existent. Surely they are missing a huge opportunity?
No course marshal meant we were stuck behind a family of 5 in a buggy with one set of clubs between them for the last few holes, it just has an aura that no-one cares when it could be such a truly beautiful course.
That being said the green staff are doing a good job maintaining the course and greens but could put a little more TLC into the tee boxes.
Will continue to play here as its location is perfect but w forever walk off of 18 disappointed that it could easily be so, so much nicer.
