This course has great views
Cracking course, forgiving for the novice golfer yet still a challenge for any golfer love the place
Nice course
Well maintained course, layout of the course isnt very flowing, a few long walks to the next tee, we played and had very strong winds which didnt help on some holes, i think 13th has the best views
Stunning views
Great course with lots of challenging holes
when the weather is kind its a beautiful place with some fantastic scenery!!
it's a pity I played crap

Tricky
First time I’ve played this course.
Definitely would return. Course is tricky for a first timer as we were unsure where we were going. Couple of blind shots that really help if you know where to aim.
There wasn’t much to complain about. Our tee time was in the middle of a mid week medal. Since we were the only four ball we had to let a couple of groups through.
The tee blocks were a little patchy and uneven.
Everything else was excellent. Greens very receptive and great roll.
Fairways and rough were at a great length and condition.
The course is tough on the legs when walking. Nothing horrendous or to steep but constant changes, if you struggle mobility wise I might just give it a miss.
Members very pleasant. Clubhouse very welcoming.
Overall a good experience.
Hidden Grm
This truly is a hidden gem, fairways and greens in fantastic condition and great views from all over the course.
Very hilly.
First time playing this course and honestly it wasn’t a bad one, there are massive hills and a fair few fairways that are on a near enough 45 degree angle as a result of the hills. Greens weren’t amazing quite bumpy and hard to read and a fair distance to walk between some holes. Not sure if it was to do with the recent heat but quite a few of the tee boxes were Just devoid of grass. Was good for a first time but wouldn’t play it again I don’t think and at £22 a head there are cheaper and better options out there.
Surprised
Played this course for the first time, local but never been before, Great selection of holes course in great condition, greens quick and need a good read, quite a difficult walk but worth it, as an avid reader of reviews yes in good condition a must play.deal we got unbeatable.
Great Course
Just wanted to say what a cracking course this is! Had a 10.20 Tee, never played here before and all the staff were amazing! The Members were friendly and helped point me in the right direction a few times!
Some great long drives available followed up with some technical finishes. Definitely worth taking a look at the holes before you play but the back 9 was cracking!
Everything ran quick today, no hold ups and the ball just didn’t want to stop! Great for getting that little bit closer - helped my game out today!
Thanks to Ste one of the Green Keepers’ for some well received pointers!
Will definitely be back soon
Uprated since i last played here 15 years ago.
As a past member of this course i have just returned to have my first game of golf here since 2004. The course has now been upgraded with 3 new holes i had not seen before ( done i believe over 10 years ago) and a great addition they are. The course is now par 71 and a good test of golf , not a long course but get your drives away well and there are birdies to be had. The course and greens were excellent and with the glorious weather it was a very enjoyable round around my old stomping ground and shooting only 4 over i came off happy.
Great course
Great course. Really enjoyed it.
Some sneaky holes where if you dont know where to hit it, can easily lose a ball though.
Will gladly play again.
Truly a hidden gem
Very interesting layout and course in very good condition despite the drought conditions we have experienced lately.
Pro shop and bar staff very friendly.
Cracking course
Given its location on the side of the hills just outside Bury, it isn't actually as hilly as you might think.
Great mix of wide open holes and more technical ones. Given the very hot weather recently the course is in great condition with only a couple of weathered greens!!
Staff are fantastic and really helpful with frisr time players.
Excellent golf course north of Bury
Walmersley golf course just north of Bury was a testing course for both my son and myself. Well designed course with three difficult par 3s, two long par 5s and the rest par 4s
Very friendly and welcoming club with great views of the moors, Manchester and the surrounding countryside and for £14 each we will be back
Disgraceful state
this used to be a very good course with the best greens bar none.
it now has the accolade of having the worse greens I have played on for 20 years & will not be playing there again. Also the road to get to the course is in a dreadful state
walmersley
in good condition for the time of year will play again. just be careful on the tight road getting to it
'Pleasant surprise'.
First time played the course and was expecting a so so hilly trek; couldn't have been more mistaken. Hilly true but not mountainous with some very enticing holes not to mention spectacular views to boot. Pro was very welcoming on arrival kicking the round off on the right foot. Course in good nick considering the recent poor wet weather - definately one to play and great value.
