Getting There
Prior to coming down from WI, I read reviews that this course used to be in rough shape but is getting better. I will agree with those reviews. You can see the effort and reinvestment into the course, it’s just going to take a bit more time to reverse all the damage. Tremendous effort can be seen in making the greens priority #1 which enhances the experience, Both Bay and Marsh 9s have their good and bad holes for tee box and fairway conditions. Worth giving them your tee time money to play an interesting/different course design if you’re looking for a more cost effective “Destin” golf option. I can appreciate and feel good knowing my money went to reinvestment to make the course nice again.
Bluewater Bay golf course
Bluewater bay golf course is a fun course to play. Fairways are in great shape. Green we’re very god except for a couple. I played this course 4 times. All. The pace of play was good 3-4 four times. The 4th time I played was dreadfully slow on the front nine. Two senior groups were in front of us and it was ver, very slow play. Fortunately, they only played 9 holes .
The course is in very good shape. Friendly staff.
Stay on the fairways
We enjoyed the course but found the greens very small, especially on some holes. Greens did run true. Fairways were in good condition but just off the fairways conditions were poor, much sand, pine cones, little turf once off the fairway. Price was super at only $30 to ride 18 holes so no complaints. Some views of the bay were spectacular.
Not great
This course had a lot of sandy fairways and “rough”. The grass was patchy. Many greens were like washboards. You have to drive large distances through neighborhoods to get to the #1 and #10 tees. Strange layout.
Snowbird - visitor from Michigan
Upon arrival we noticed a very nice clubhouse. Carts are allowed in the parking lot to load and unload your clubs. Pro shop was not nicely stocked and the clientele was very friendly. The starter was very friendly and very informative. The practice green was well kept giving us a good idea on the speed of the greens which was a little slow but beautifully kept just like the course. There was a little drive to the first tee. The fairways were in very good condition, nice and green as well manicured. My GPS was a little confused several times over the front nine of the course. I think it was due to renovations that were recently made. The cart we had was excellent. Overall it was a very pleasant round of golf at a very pleasant pace. We decided to play this course several times during our stay in Miramar Beach.
PCB 2024
Drove a bit to get here but good overall value and nice folks running things. Could have been a bit more instructional in terms of hole 1 and 10 locations. Kinda of hard to find unless you have been there before. Course was in fair shape and played decent.
narrow fairways
We enjoyed the course. Most greens were in excellent shape with only a few having damaged spots. Some fairways were rather narrow but all in all a great course.
Course layout
First tee is half mile or more from clubhouse and once you tee off you don’t see the clubhouse until you’re round is finished. My first time playing here and if I would’ve known that I would’ve bought drinks before the round as there was no drink cart on the course. Otherwise good course for the & and would recommend playing it.
liked it but...
We played this exactly 2 yrs ago and we walked off the course it was in such a bad shape, It is in very good shape now and it is a fun course to play. BUT one thing irritated me. The pace of play was great on the front nice, but when we made the turn everything got backed up because the pro shop attendant allowed two groups, who were only playing nine holes, jump on front of us. The pace of play was terrible after that. After the round I asked at the pro shop what the heck happened and the reply was that the person manning the desk caved to the request from the players who were only playing nine holes to play the back nine since they had played the front nine the day before and wanted to play a different nine that.day. How incredibly stupid is that? Be aware.
Good find!
Ryan and everyone at Blue Water Bay were great...
Thanks again for a pleasant Golfing experience

Marsh 9 Pleasant, Bay 9 Lacking
Conditioning tee thru green on Bay 9 not good, improving greens would go a long way. Conversely, the Marsh 9 conditions were much better tee thru green. Greens were in vastly better shape; proving it can be done.
Not a long layout, but could be a fun place to play if they could get conditions to the next level consistently.
Course much improved
The coursr conditions have improved greatly from when we played last year in February . Will definitely play again
