Want a refund
Poor excuse for a GolfNow course offering. It is barely a par 3 course, would have been wised playing a miniputt course somewhere! Most holes were only 60 yds into a small green.
Miniput with real grass.
I thought for the money this executive course would be better value than the driving range but other than playing half wedges it was not worth the time.
Not even decent practice facility
lights not working properly
greens really small
holes all 40-70 yds each
not worth you time.....
Don't play here if you want a challenge...
I was extremely disappointed as the website did not say that this was a executive 9 hole with no holes longer than 99 yards. I was looking forward to a decent 9 holes on vacation and what I found was a course that was set up for an introduction or first round of golf ever. It wasn't even a part of the actual golf course. It's located by the pools of the resort and had to get bused out to it. Felt like I was trespassing at the resort and that the GC didn't even know I was there. On the plus side if you want to practice your short game, I know a place that you can sneak on for free and not see a soul. Wink Wink...
Great for Beginners
Played with 2 beginners and it was a great course to introduce them to the game - no pressure from experienced golfers trying to play through and no restriction on playing the course a number of times. Extremely friendly staff - almost had the course to ourselves.
Course is Beautiful
The course is Beautiful. However, for the price, the greens should be kept in much better shape. I realize this is a resort, but it doesn't mean that those who can't afford the championship courses can't be given nice greens to go with such a beautiful course.
Know In Advance
Short little course. Only need 9 iron, pitching wedge, putter. Well advertised that just a place for kids and practice your short game so we had no complaint. We played 3 times in 2 hours as it is unlimited play. Great to practice your short game and bunker exit. Not that hot for putting practice as greens poor.
Resort 9 hole executive
I was extremely disappointed as the website did not say that this was a executive 9 hole with no holes longer than 99 yards. Had to rent clubs that came with two wedges and a putter. Was looking forward to a decent 9 holes on vacation and what I found was a course that was set up for an introduction or first round of golf. It wasn't even apart of the actual golf course. It's located by the pools of the resort and had to get bused out to it. Felt like I was trespassing at te resort and that the GC didn't even know I was there. On the plus side if you want to practise your short game, I know a place that you can sneak on for free and not see a soul.
Nice way to work on short game
We arrived early for our round and were allowed to play early. There was only one other group. The deal said the round included clubs and balls, but no one at the pro shop was aware of the terms, so we ended up having to buy our own balls.
The course itself is in rough condition, especially the greens, but my wife is a beginner, and this was relaxed way for her to work on her swing without pressure from other groups or a course ranger. Even though it's short, it's a little tough to find your way around it.
Warm up
We used this course as a warm-up. It's great if you're working on your short game – nothing longer than 90 yards. For the money, I would use this as a warm-up every time I come down to Florida.
Short but Good Practice
Longest hole is 90yds so only need 3 clubs, lots of sand but easy to avoid, better than a short game practice area.
fun
This is a nine hole pitch and putt with holes from 50 yds to 90 yds using mats as tee boxes. great course for families with small children, grandparents who just want something to do that is reasonable in cost & fun. great for beginners, if golfer in party can use as short game prep but not for serious golfer. Might need to check if clubs balls etc are available for use. Wasn't busy
Surprised this "Par 3" is offered on Golf Now
This is more of a learning opportunity for children and a great location for them to learn- just outside the hotel. We did not have that much time so we thought this would be a way get a practice round in. Very disappointing when we thought we would be golfing on a real par 3 course where there would be holes 150 to 200 yards! Did not like hitting off mats for all 9 holes. This is unlike Golf Now to advertise this type of course, especially as an 18 hole Par 3! I believe it was a total of 650 yards for the 9 holes. (You play the same 9 twice in order to complete the 18 holes). This was the first time we were disappointed by Golf Now.
really short
the course is very shot, much more of a pitch and putt kind of thing. That being said if u can book it cheap, you should do it. I thought it was a great way to practice your short game
9 hole walking
Small 9 hole walking, brushed up on short game...not so easy to do!
like it
play this course whenever i'm in florida and enjoy it every time.
Two steps above a mini golf course...wish it was in my backyard
As a loyal player at Champions Gate, I've noticed this little pitch and putt course from the 6th green & 7th tee of the International Course for many years. It always looked in nice shape with rarely anybody on it, so I took a novice player out there with putter & wedges and we had a nice time for about an hour. While being well-maintained overall (a couple of greens were patchy), I never like hitting off mats and that is what they feature on all nine tee boxes. This certainly isn't worth the full price to play NOR a special trip, but if you can play it for a few bucks while staying at the Omni...it becomes a unique hotel perk.
Pitch and Putt
This course is not a Par 3, but rather a Pitch and Putt (all holes range from 50-90 yards or so). There is only one set of tees, and they are grass mats. To check in, you do not go to the Championsgate Clubhouse, but rather the Omni Hotel Towel Shack. Very strange feeling walking around the pool area carrying golf clubs. The conditions were so-so, but on the plus side, nobody is out there, and you are allowed replays (we were told unlimited, but that may not be true).
short course good condition
This course is for beginners or golfers who want to practice wedges. It was good for my wife who is recovering from shoulder surgery and couldn't swing a full club.
Champion's Gate 9 Hole Course
This Par 3 is not what we expected. Basically, chip and putt. Not worth the 9 or ten dollars that we paid. Had I known it was cjip and putt, I would not have played. I suppose if you took your pre-tr=een children it would be okay.
