Public walk on and play
It would appear that after booking a tee time and paying for the round that the general public would just turn up on the tee and tee off.
Ideal course for beginners/high handicap golfers.
As a high handicap golfer I enjoyed playing this course,, also due to my health issues it’s flat and so easy to walk around, the course and the greens were in very good condition overall I’m impressed with it and will definitely be playing here again
Good course
Played after 3 years - chose this one at David Lloyd, nice course, though fairways were incredibly hard, and the greens were quite poor - very lumpy in places and way too soft. Also too many people on the outskirts walking their dogs, also other golfers not adhering to proper golf etiquette, and teeing off whilst we were still on the greens - on a par 3. Though despite all that, still not a bad course, and good for value,
Great place to learn how to play the game
I was in the area and wanted to go to a range to kill a few hours, so booked 9 holes on this course. Parking was a nightmare as its in a David Lloyds Gym. As far as the Golf Course, it is your standard public 9 hole course, with the expected condition and greens. I caught a two ball up after 1 hole and they let me jump on with them (as there was a 4 ball in front). Very nice gents and enjoyed the game. Quite funny as it was the first time I have ever shot level par gross over 9......which says it all really :-)
Great Value
Good course conditions considering very variable weather recently.
All the holes were quite similar with few hazards/variations in layout.
But for what we paid, excellent value.
Fair price for a 9 hole
Ground very dry, course well kept, but poorly staffed and staff not very friendly. We waited at clubhouse/shed for 15 min before anyone came over to ask if we needed anything. They were on practice green. Work it all out yourself.. no access to driving range for non members. A fair course though with some challenging holes.
9 holes on a hot day
I played 9 holes, aware of the drought so course conditions weren’t optimal as the only part with green grass was the green. Extremely accommodating staff and very friendly players on the course too.
Will absolutely come again and hope for some rain to fuel the Fairways
Really poor greens!
The location is convenient for us and does not take too long to get round. However, although the fairways are a bit hard for this time of year ( lack of rain!), the state of the greens is just not acceptable. Even if the price was lower, it just makes for a really annoying round of golf. You simply cannot putt on the greens which ruins the game. There really is no excuse for this other than laziness or lack of knowledge of how to keep, the greens in good working order. For the price, this is not acceptable. A real shame that this lets the whole course down and the enjoyment of the game. You feel you are being a little ripped off by the price.hopefully they will spend more time on them. If they do, then this will be a cracking short course. Nice walk spoilt by bad greens!
Not pad for a pay and play course.
Only 9 holes and same tee position for 1st and 2nd round.
Open forgiving course.
Course in fair condition considering time of year.
Greens weren't great though.
Good course But.
the course itself is very good although it looked as though it had been played on a lot (which should not of happened as we had only been out of lockdown for 6 days), the tee offs were very badly marked and there was an awful lot of divet's on the greens. the only problem was that there was a couple playing golf and they had two unruly dogs going around with them, the dogs were constantly barking which is not good when you are trying to concentrate on your game. overall the course was well worth the money but they need to look at allowing people on the course with dogs.
Very hard fairway like concrete.
Everything is fine except for hard fairway.
You never make divots on the “fairway” as it is like concrete ground.
In spring, this course was quite good to practice my golf shot. The fairway was soft in spring.
Anyway, you can upgrade your shot with very accurate impact here, though. There is no margin between best shot and good shot in this fairway. All of your shot would split into best shot or worst shot according to your impact that overcomes concrete fairway.
Good beginners course at a very reasonable price.
Took 2 friends who are just beginners to the game for 9 holes. Ideal starter course but greens were a little slow.
Only downside was a woman with 3 kids walking a dog and picked up 2 of our balls on the 1st hole. When challenged she gave my ball back to me and one little brat threw my friends ball into bushes.
Enjoyable course.
Novice, nine holes
I’m a novice golfer only recently started playing. This is a great course as it’s a relaxed atmosphere and a Challenging but fair course. Shame there isn’t a nineteenth hole for a drink afterwards
