Avoid
I hate to write this, the course is fun but if you pay more than $20 you overpaid. Sorry but on the rare occasion I hit the fairway I dont want to hit out of huge patches of crab grass or even worse dirt/sand. Only a few holes had actual sand in the bunkers, the greens were in bad shape, the entire course could've been ground under repair. And to make matters worse I paid $50 playing on a holiday weekend.
Course was unplayable!
I have played this course a number of times now, because the layout is very good, and always a good rate on Tee Off website! Due to the conditions of the course this day, I was surprised they were letting golfers play! I stopped after 9 holes due to standing water on just about every fairway(lost 3.balls in fairway in the nine holes!)
Not playable
Water puddles, mini lakes on the fairways not at all playable. Barely finished 8 holes.
Old man at Pro-shop check-in TORRIBLE
Rude and disgruntled front desk staff. Old man glasses, stashe you know who you are. Turning customers away. Horrific course conditions not maintained. Lazy staff decided to change course layout make things worse for patrons so they have to do less work. Don’t mind paying and playing during wet season but this course is ajoke
Very disappointed
Fairways were full of water and all the Par5's were cut down to Par3's/
I sent an email to the Managment and still after 2 weeks no response.
Wet Conditions
Normally this is an average course but when I played the course was extremely wet, albeit due to heavy rain from prior week. This course is better played during the hotter months. On a side note one the employees accused me of using my own balls on the range, of which I wasn’t of course. When I showed him the range balls that I purchased from the course he did not even apologize. This made it a bad start to the day and round.
Course was cut short with all par 5s to par 3s
Normally course plays ok but this time it had all par5s coming t par3s, which made the course even shorter. Although glad it was open after recent heavy rain
Redwood Canyon
RC is a truly fun place to play. Currently there is a lot of water running in the creeks. However below flood run off. The flat areas are mucky but this is because it’s winter time. Duh!! Come out and play. RC. Please keep them going. I believe they are doing a wonderful job re establishing
The course. The greens are perfectly cut. The Blue tee box is back at original 9 hole. Expanded 18 hole tee length. 2 new creek bridges.
If you do not want to play. It’s ok. Come visit the bar after a nice hike or your wedding there.
Avoid after the rain
Definitely not a good choice after the rain. This course has been severely impacted by storms last year and it wouldn't get any better as this course is located in the valley. Many puddles (some even the size of ponds where ducks found it home) throughout the course and slow pace of play due to cart path only restriction (which is understandable). But I wouldn't come back any time soon unless significant efforts are made to make irrigation better and maintain the course to keep up with other courses.
Wet Fun??
Hadn’t played this course in years but it’s still an interesting one. The weather was rainy, cold & windy so we only got 9 in but it was still fun.
Greens and fairways
To start positive, the layout is fantastic. The condition of the greens were horrible. The fairways were also in horrible shape. Lots of bare spots all around the greens. Most of the lies were a little bit of grass and very hard ground beneath the grass.
