This course was in terrible condition. The fairways were scraped for over seeding so we we were basically just hitting off of dirt. The areas that were not scraped were patches of long bermuda so if you hit into it your ball was lost. The greens were patchy and looked like divots had not been repaired for quite some time. Hitting out of the sand traps was like hitting on concrete. I've been golfing in the valley all summer and this course was by far the worst one.

We were having a nice round when making the turn for the back nine we were told by management the course was going to close in one hour at 2:00 pm and we had to have our cart in by 1:45. Unbelievable in over 20 years of playing golf on courses throughout the country never ever have I experienced anything like this. At 1:30 they were pulling flags. I would think there is a better way to operate a golf course, why open at all. I wish when booking the round through Golf Now they would have mentioned the time restriction.

Big disappointment, grass not cut in fairway for a month, could not find ball in the fairway, bunkers overgrown with grass, greens like dirt, couple in front of me had to push their cart up the hill from 18 to clubhouse.

Great layout. The rough needs to be mowed shorter

I understand it is summer and no one wants to play in 105 degree. Greens are still in good condition, tee boxes need some tlc.

Overall great course and excellent service from the stater who wears different hats.

I've been playing this course since2001and it used to be one of the nicest courses in the Coachella Valley but, now it's in horrible condition.

There are 10 to 12 inch weeds literally growing in some of the fairways and the grass is so long and thick, forget about finding your golf ball. There used to be plenty of water to drink on the course but, I can only remember 2 water jugs on the entire course.

Its just sad because it doesn't have to be this way. I understand it is under new ownership and that's probably where all of the problems come from.

I will never play this course again ( unless some drastic changes are made).

It is understood that when you play in PS in the summer you can expect some shaggy conditions due to a drop in maintenance and thus some pretty nice savings on green fees, but this was ridiculous.

Even the driving range was so long you had to cut the grass with your club just to see your ball.

Our threesome lost 5 balls in play due to long grass simply swallowing them up even though we knew where they should be.

Groundskeeper was mowing on #1 when we came back on #9 but too late for any early tee times.

Desert Dunes has all the look of a course on the way out of business, too bad. I've played here a few times over the years and it just keeps deteriorating. Probably won't be back unless they put a little money into maintaining and upgrading the facilities.

We have played this course for 20 years and is one of our favourite courses in the valley.

Coming from England we enjoy the course layout and playing in the wind .

Sadly we played yesterday the fairways must have not been cut for weeks for weeds 2 feet high were in the middle of the fairway. Some kind of mushrooms were growing on the greens.

Owners - do not let this course go to rack and ruin.

Hopefully it will be back to normal next year.

Its unfortunate that a RTJ property could be in this poor of conditions. While I shot a 75, the course condition was beyond poor. The fairways were hard to decipher from the rough and the greens were running no more than a 6. I recognize the RTJ design and favor it however I would not recommend this course to anyone.

One of my favorite courses in the Valley, however I have never seen this course in such bad condition. Weeds a foot tall in the fairways, even 6 inch weeds growing on the greens. Don't know whats going on with this course but its a shame to see it this way..The only thing good would be rabbit hunting on this course, Over run with rabbits.

I have played DD many times in the past but the condition of the course right now is terrible. The greens were good but the tees, fairways, rough, and traps were bad. Many fairways had nothing but dead grass, and the ones that did have grass had not been cut in a long time. There were weeds 8" tall everywhere, so nothing had been mowed in quite some time. Paid $20 to play and that was $15 too much. Driving range had bass that looked 10 years old and all the grass there was dead. Don't play this place.

Played the course in the spring and it was in fine condition. It has been neglected ever since it seems. Too bad, because the layout is fine for a desert course. Desert Dunes has definitely seen better days.

Once upon a time I visited a desert course that was vibrant, alive and loved by all who played it. That was NOT the case on 6/25 when at 7:45 I rolled on to the 1st tee box and said to myself what has happened to this course. Throughout the round kept remembering how much fun it use to be. I don't know what happened to the management team but the place looked like a ghost town. The course has great bones but the bones are all that's left. We paid $1 a hole and that is all it's worth.

Called course before booking. The individual stated that the course was in really good shape. Upon arrival we found that things were much different. Once upon a time, the course must have been nice.

....but that was once upon a time. We found out that they had let go of most of their grounds crew over at month ago. Tees were not mowed, rough was going to seed, fairways were mostly dried out and dormant, and the greens, though watered, needed a lot of attention. I know that this is the desert, but played a couple of courses earlier this week and they were pristine.

This course needs some money and a whole lot of TCL!

STAY AWAY! !!

Arrived early but were unable to tee off or even have a cart for our clubs until our tee off time at noon. Probably because it was the cheap spot at noon. Course was dry, grass needed to be mowed and greens disgusting. No marshall on the course so we skipped 2 holes to get by the foursome who were averaging 30 minutes per hole. 5 groups including us were forced to do that. But worst of all, the guys cart died FIVE times in 16 holes! Compensation, 1 round of golf for one of the guys in the cart, but not both! Did they think that one was walking and one was using the cart! Their explanation was that it was golf now's fault since they had bought and sold the tee time to us. I do believe it doesn't matter who you booked the round with, it's the club's responsibility to keep their carts maintained. So, in summary, don't golf there no matter how cheap you get it for.
