Best of the three mid-valley courses
IN the mid-valley you have Woodley Lakes, Balboa and Encino courses, respectfully. The Encino course is the best of the three, in my opinion. Wide fairways make it easy for the beginer to have an enjoyable round without looking a couple of sleeves worth of balls. The other two courses are also good, however the Geese love to poop on the Woodley and Balboa courses. Especially Woodley.
Rare perfect day at Encino
Normally the course is much more congested and the weather is hotter. But we got lucky yesterday. Weather was cool, sunny, breezy and there were fewer golfers. I won't expect to have such good luck again at Encino. The fairways, thanks to recent rains, were lusher than usual.
Great honest and value for the money
Amazing place left 60 wedge an the 18 hole, call next day and got save for me. Thank you encino staff.
So much potential...
Unfortunately the City puts no money into this Golf course. For the amount of money they charge its ridiculous. The fairways are made up of many types of weeds and the tee boxes are a travesty. Please work on the course, it could be such a great environment and experience for locals and visitors!
Bad Friday
We showed up for a normal GridY mid day round. When we get there we were informed that it was walking only and no push carts. None of us were prepared for this. Our only option was walk and carry our bags. Not a fun day. Someone should have communicated to us the no electric carts. It made for a long and hard day of golf. No what we are used to
Needs some post rain TLC
Course needs some grooming after the rains. I play there pretty frequently, but it was rough yesterday. Greens were fine.
Great course but NOT after a rainy day
I played this course for years and never had issues. I always enjoyed playing here but recently, I played twice but it was few days after a rain and the course was basically destroyed by the rain and the water didn't drain as well as other courses leaving a lot of muddy fairways and water patches all over.
Avoid playing here after the rain... you will not enjoy it. Just want and go play once the rainy season is over.
Chris
Course was closed. They sold me a round of golf as a “hot deal” to a closed course!!!! It was hot … then golfnow app would not let me cancel or refund me. I was not happy … basically stole 30 bucks from me and then asked me for a review. You suck. That is my honest review …
Great moments
My Son and I had a super Day playing Golf together. Great Course. Awesome Greens.
It was saturated with water sitting, but like this course!
It was a few days after heavy amount of rain again, so it was no electrical carts allowed. This course is very walkable and flat, so no big deal for me. The course was saturated and there was standing water in several areas throughout the low spots of the course. I will definitely come back and play soon! It is usually in good condition and after all the rain, it should be a nice spring with golf :-)
