A good place to practice your swing!
It's not advisable for beginners because some holes are very challenging. Buts it's very fun to play on this course.
First time
This course was awesome! We can’t wait to golf here again. The views were beautiful.
The only negative thing to say about this place is the lack of customer service when checking in. She was very rude and not a good way to tee off.
We encountered many staff members throughout and everyone else was very nice and friendly.
Longest round of golf ever
Zero Marshall or staff presence to speed up pace of play
Longest round I have ever played 5 hrs 45 minutes
And thought Tilden park was slow
Worst course in the bay for the money
Absolutely horrible, I can’t believe this course can get even above 50 bucks for a tee time. 100% the worst course for the money in the Bay Area. Just got play Corica for the same and have a great round or honestly any other course. Total cow pasture and needs to be replaced with housing

Weak Maintenance Mars Otherwise Fun Course
First the Good: Challenging layout and good greens in scenic location. I played alone in cart and was only slowed down a few times by twosomes searching for lost balls. With a few more maintenance dollars this would be a great course.
Now the Bad: I dont know WHEN or HOW OFTEN they mow this course, but it was a shaggy mess the day I played. Even on hillsides where the rough was trimmed to 6-8 inches they left the newly cut grass on the ground. I lost 6-8 balls on the day and only two were OB...the rest should have been findable but were not. Long fairway grass also limited any rollout and since so many greens are elevated above the fairway, this made course play MUCH tougher than the 119 slope rating. And on holes-3-4-5 you must be concerned about cars driving through the fairway as you play. More blind tee and uphill approach shots than any course I can recall playing.
I would love to return in summer when maybe the grass won't be so thick or they have a larger maintenance staff. I could give this course 5 stars if all the fairways were really fairways and not a lower cut of rough.
Maintenance Being Performed
We played a round in the middle of the day and the weather was perfect. The course though was in the process of being maintained and was not in the best of conditions. There were grass cuttings everywhere and if you did not hit your ball in the fairway, the likelihood of you finding your ball was very low. It would have been nice if they were able to pick up the grass trimmings as they mowed the area. The greens were in fairly good condition though. Maybe that is why pace of play was great, because people are avoiding the course until it is done with its maintenance.
Terrible Conditions
Entire course was a soggy mess. Lost balls in the middle of fairways. In the middle of summer this course is great. Wont be returning again until summer.
Avoid at all costs
I have played my fair share of dog tracks, and I'm no snob about a golf course. But it hasn't rained for at least 4 days and this course was absolutely caked in mud. If you hit the "fairway" that was the length of 2nd cut, your ball plugged and you might be able to find it. If you missed the fairway, it plugged in rough that was sometimes 5" long or more, and I lost about 6 balls that I saw land but immediately buried. Sure, a gimmicky 660yd par 6 can be fun, but not when you watch two balls bury themselves like a mole. There were times where I struck the ball well, ball first, but the ground was such a mess that it caught the ball on the way out and dropped it like a knuckleball.
I'm all for uneven lies and blind shots that make a course challenging, but if you have no chance of finding the ball, what's the point? Why make you guess what club you should use on a 180 yard par 3 that has 100+ feet of elevation drop if you can't see where you're hitting the ball? Guess what, I cleared the long stuff and still never found that ball.
I just got home, I am filthy with mud and exhausted after a 5+ hour round. The only thing that saved the round was that eventually we were having a good laugh with ourselves and the people around us about how ridiculous it was. That wasn't golf.
you could lose a ball in the fairway teeing off, the ground swallowed 3 balls!! please add some drainage tiles to the wet spots!
Value
From a golfers stand point they shouldn’t charge full price when course is in poor condition. As a group we lost 15 golf balls in the fairway.
A beautiful course to enjoy
I have been really looking forward to playing this course and it didn't disappoint. There has been a lot rain in the Bay Area, but the course was in great condition. The scenery was amazing and the 9th hole was a treat! If you ever have a chance to play a round of golf while you're in Bay Area, try this course.
