I was played first time here, the course seemed average but it was too busy so it is hard to remember how was my play. I had to wait to get the cart but people behind us got their cart right away. I had to quit butting and was busy to hit the ball regardless of where and how I hit. Also although I do not know the reason, I felt sorry because the cart of course manager kept chasing only us and told us move fast twice. maybe my handicap is too much for this course. I will not play here again until I become a single.

Greens are great and the rest is manicured nicely. Some spots are muddy from leaky sprinklers. Although, I see the 1st tee box had some water repair. A little mud is fine, just bought new white shoes though :-).

Some parts of the fairways are a bit muddy. Also, usually oversold on times. One example, is the cart didn't have enough juice. Played 12 holes and barely got back to the clubhouse! Beautiful day and the greens were good enough.

I hesitate to play this course bcs it is typically slow pace. Decided to give it another try and pace was worse than ever. First of all there were not enough golf carts so we could not get out at our assigned tee time. Front nine took 3 hours...5:15 for whole round. Plus course allowed a 5some out 2 groups ahead. I like the course just can’t understand why pace of play drags so much here

We played a slow pace on the front waited a few minutes on every tee box on the front 9. Greens are beat up and fast. People are not repairing their balls marks as I was doing 2-3 each hole. If you make a ball mark on a green and you don't fix it you should be banned from golf. That is ridiculous! It's kind of a right of passage. I'm proud as heck going up to properly fix my ball mark.. C'mon man!!

When we made the turn we got to the 10th tee box and see a group of 4 teeing off, another group of 4 and the group of 4 we have been following. It would have been at least a 30 minute wait so we just said we are outta here. I like the back nine too! I just couldn't take the waiting around. The tee times are every 6-7 minutes. $30 a round is a good value unless you can only get in 9 holes! It will be a while before I go back. Maybe when I need to kill 6 hours of my day.

Other than the greens, the course is in great shape and plays very well. However, when it comes to the putting surfaces, I'm not sure what is going on...for the most part they are very rough and seem pretty beat up.... I believe there are too many golfers that don't bother to fix ball-marks, or just plain do not know how??? It may also tribe that the underlayment is in need of some work, as it seems that many of the ball-marks have stripped off the grass and left a soft, muddy spot. It's too hard underneath the surface and balls are "skimming" instead of leaving a "normal" ball-mark. I've been playing this course for over 3 years now and it seems that this summer has been hardest on the putting surfaces and they need serious help. Other than that, the sand, or whatever it is in the traps and bunkers, also needs serious attention. We are in southern California and I would think the sand would be soft and fluffy. Nope.. soggy, hard, and sometimes even sloppy-wet in the bottoms, enough where you can get splashed trying to get under the ball and use the sand as normal.. I had two sand shots today where my just club bounced off the surface in front of the ball and I sent my ball almost to the next tee.. I can understand damp after a rainstorm, but I think the sprinklers are just not positioned well enough to try to minimize how much water goes in... or, the drainage needs serious work. Don't get me totally wrong here though... I really enjoy this course... it has some things that need work, and most every course has its issues,, Time and good maintenance practices will make a huge difference here and I will continue to play here.. And, maybe with some focused effort by having someone physically watching the greens and then reinforcing ball-mark repair ettiquet through in-person training right there on the green??? Just a thought...;

Everything was fine. Love the course and the layout. I just would like them to fix the greens, too many divots, which interfere with our putting, a lot!

The other one is that, they must do something regarding the ponds, the water is stagnated, and for such, they become areas prone to the reproduction of mosquitoes.

I plan on coming back soon for I really enjoyed playing here.

Love the fact that the carts have GPS

they throw in plenty of water hazards and most of the holes play long. the condition of the course is what stands out the most to me, the fairways and the greens are all in great condition. I'm trying say it doesn't look like its over played with all kinds of dead spots after the summer heat. really beautiful.

It always amazes me when a nice course has greens that are shaggy and long. Not sure if they are fighting a disease or if other golfers forget that it is imperative that they fix their own ball marks. Makes for some pretty UNPRETTY greens. Back nine was better but please people be courteous to the courses you play. We played in the afternoon and the greens were very shaggy. We are in a heat wave so that could be why I didn't ask. However I always like this course and for the price we can golf as a family and are able to get the driver out. Thank you.

I've played The Vineyard dozens of times. It's always in excellent shape, the staff is always helpful, and the layout moderately challenging. Quite enjoyable, other than the one problem they haven't solved: they overbook.

Went off about 10:30AM on a Saturday. Group of 3 in front of us. Backed up and waiting 10+ minutes per hole by #2. Yes, by hole #2. The foursome in front of the threesome in front of us were...um...not good golfers, and were duffing shots, hitting 2-3 tee shots each on every hole, and taking forever. With no action whatsoever from course marshals.

Eventually the group in front of us skipped a hole to go past them. Two holes later we did the same skipping #7 entirely to avoid a 7-hour round.

I really enjoy playing this course. It's always in outstanding shape (and in the middle of August in San Diego, that's saying something!). But they need to do something about the pace of play, take charge of it, or people like me aren't going to play there. It's too frustrating, and I hate paying for 18 holes and playing 17.
