Too pricey without a "Hot Deal"
The course layout is plain vanilla, especially holes #8 through #16 on the east side of Hwy 580. The greens were in top notch condition. However, the fairways were below average, and the rough was absolute trash. The course managers are clearly taking the California drought mantra "Brown is the new green" very seriously.
Normal weekend prices appear to be $61 per player including cart. This is too pricey for a course in this condition, especially when comparable prices can be found at neighboring courses that may be in better shape, such as The Reserve, Las Positas or Diablo Grande.
Excellent pace of play for a Sunday - finished in about 3.5 hours.
Flat but fun course, don't drink too much water.
The course was enjoyable, but it is very flat, and some holes feel like a re-run. The greens are pretty well-kept and roll well. The greens are pretty dynamic here despite the holes feeling somewhat similar. There are some very challenging greens. Clover/weed heavy roughs.
There is no bathroom til hole 12 or so. No port-a-potties or even good trees to use until you are on the far end of the course.
Paly was slow. Several groups of 5 players slowed play dramacally. Dod nit like that ay all.
A bit outdated.
At one point in time this was probably a beautiful golf course when it was strictly a country club but it needs a lot of work as a public course now. The clubhouse and bar are like something out of the 70s. The course was in good shape but most of the greens were a bit bumpy so your putt was really unpredictable. There's a large amount of fairway blocking trees right at the tee box that require high levels of skill to shoot around and hit the fairways. Other than those details for the price of a round with cart it's worth the trip out there. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Thanks Tracy CCG.
Challenging day
Lots of wind, had good time, There was some younger players who thought they could get away with an 8some, but a call to pro shop broke that up, real "BAD" move by those guys.
Nice pace of play for Sunday morning
Course layout is interesting. Our tee time is Sunday 10:50, we finished in 4 hours!
