Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - South Par-3 Course
About
The South Par-3 Course is one of two par-3, public golf courses that Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills offers. In total there are four courses, varying in length and size, at Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills. Unlike the 7-hole North Par-3 Course, the South Par-3 has 9 holes and it is 1,060 yards from its longest tees. The course is quite challenging for a par-3. Water hazards come into play on four of the nine holes. It offers excellent practice for those wanting to improve their short game as it tests several different handicaps. Although less demanding than the 18-hole Gold Course, the South Par-3 is a great short course.

Love the greens on this course!
We love Hyland Hills. The price is competitive and they take good care of their courses. The par 3 tee areas were a little beat up, so they had mats out, which we completely understood. That being said, the course and the greens were beautiful, well-kept, and overall just amazing!
Dog Daze
I actually like this course: Hyland Hills South Par3 isn't fancy, but it's normally fun and a good value close to home. However this particular warm sunny January day, I had to watch my step carefully to avoid massive piles of dog poop starting near the 5th hole and continuing through 6,7,8 and 9; my playing partner and I lost count of the appalling and unsanitary hazards littering fairways. There are a number of apartment buildings along this stretch so it's possible some neighboring dog owner(s) could be responsible. But I've played here maybe ten times in the last year and a half, but I never saw this before.
Bring your wedges, leave everything else.
Basic and boring, the best hole is #4, 7 of the 9 are less than 100 yards so that’s a bummer. I guess I’m not the person it was built for.
Great place for me to play
I really like the courses and how well they are kept. Most all the leaves are kept off the greens and fairway thank you.
Challenging fun course
My wife and I are new golfers play mostly par three to practice and learn. This was a fun challenging course will play again !
Traffic flow
Loved the course for a par3 it was very well done and challenging, I will be back. One complaint…we had a group of 7 in front of us the last 3 or 4 holes….max should be 4.
Good Course
Love this course it’s always treated me right! From par 3 to the 18 they do a god job. All i would say is that pace of play can be very lackluster here.
Par 3 too shoet
Took my nephew to play the par three course here and tried to get onto the main course, but it was booked. It was expensive and had to wait behind golfers. That didn’t know how to golf, one cart had five people in it. The par threes were super short, and we finished the course in an hour, even though we had to wait many times on the holes. Would not recommend this, I love par three courses to practice my short game, but not this one.
