Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Gold Course
About
The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

Wonderful early season conditions
Lush fairways. Always-challenging and varied layout. Greens were rolled 2 weeks ago but still rolling poorly (bounces and slow).
Decent course, but not worth $70 for 18 and a cart with recently punched greens. Unfortunately Marshalls do not roam the course keeping an eye on groups. Pace is can be very slow here. Staff is friendly.
I would not rush back to play this course.
Gold Course
Course was good however greens rough due to aeration
Hyland Hills Gold Course
Course is in really good early season condition. Greens were recently punhced so were rather bumpy. Staff was great. Starter/greeter did his job perfectly.
My day off.
Always excellent, friendly staff and the cart girl actually ordered and brought me a burger out to the course 😋 Great time!!
Slow
Played here on a Wednesday at 11am and finished up around 5pm. About 15-20 minutes of waiting on every hole... and this was on a weekday. They need more spaced between tee times
Overpriced
No notice that the greens were punched, also no discount on fees. The greens were unplayable, sandier than a bunker.
Pace of play jammed up at hole 6 and did not let up until close to 16. No sign of staff to keep players moving along, we were often times backed up 2-3 groups per tee box.
My golf cart battery also died at hole 14. Fortunately after calling the clubhouse they were very quick to meet me with a replacement.
Very nice course
They are finally putting gps in their carts but slowed the start down, pace of play is a lil slow and the old guys complain too much, a lot of seniors thinking they are privileged.
Condition of greens
Seemed like overly aggressive aerating on the greens. Haven't seen that manner or level of aerating at any other course in a long time.
First Time Play
My relatives were visiting from the Nashville area and play golf several times a week. This was our first 18 hole round at Hyland Hills Golf Course. We all enjoyed it. Good course layout. Lots of upgrades going on around the course but they did not interfere. We look forward to playing it again soon.
Nice course, will play again
Greens were recently punched and sanded so that was the only down side. Ill be back to play in a month, greens had a lot of undulations so they must be fun when they are in top condition.
Early season delight
Recently sanded greens, but otherwise good early season conditions. Nice facilities. Competitive price for themetro area. Will be back in the summer!
