T-36
The name is misleading; there are only 9 fairways and like all other course there are multiple tee markers from pro down to ladies. The uniqueness is that there are 2 different greens for each fairway. A first time player will be very confused at the layout of the course. The markers are not clear and there are not enough of them. It's a little more expensive than other nearby traditional courses but you should try this one once.
Fun Course
Course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. Took me a minute to figure out how it worked (hit an approach shoot to the wrong green) but once I did it was a lot of fun.
Teeing It Up at T36
First time on this course. It was the old Evergreen Golf Course that had been upgraded. It is a novel course design in that most tee boxes share tees for 2 different holes as well as fairways but only for one group of players at at a time. This took a lot of getting used to as well as remembering the correct green for the hole.
The mosquito problem was noticeable but not overwhelming, though I would recommend the use of repellent or long sleeve shirts and pants.
The most annoying thing was the golf cart overrides especially in out-of-the way areas. Sometimes it was necessary to access a nearby cart path from another hole but due to the sofgtware controls on the cart those areas could not be accessed making it more difficult than it should've been to maneuver around the course. Hopefully, the course managers will remedy this problem.
Overall, it is a good course though, I wouldn't recommend it for very good golfers since the maximum yardage is only 5300 yards. If the course adds water coolers, some additonal hole signange, removes the governors on the carts and maintains the low green fee, it could be successtul.
I will not come again
1. Layout is poor and prone to hitting others:
1)The front nine and back nine share fairways.
2) The course is crowded, making it difficult to determine which green belongs to which hole.
2,This course is a renovated one from the original course, and it is still under renovation. The new course has not been updated in various systems yet, so watches and phones are not functional.
3. The fairways and greens are adequately maintained, but other areas are lacking.
4. Strong winds and many mosquitoes.
5. The staff is very enthusiastic.
Mosquitos & Care
It’s a fairly new course so the grass & playing area is still being managed, once they get everything grown in & manacured it should be a fun track to play. The clubhouse is under construction, the pro shop is complete but the restaurant part is still being built. They only had snacks & canned drinks available which is fine for it still being under construction. It’s a different set up than your conventional golf course with the sharing of fairways but it’s a fun concept. The mosquito problem is out of control & even though I want to play there again, I will not until they get that under control. I grew up in the area & have lived in the surrounding areas all my life & have never experienced mosquitos on that level, there were hundreds swarming around you at any given time. We all had repellent on & applied it several times throughout the round. The repellent would keep the mosquitos at bay until it wore off but they were still swarming all around & getting in your eyes/nose/ears/mouth constantly. Again, nice course & cool concept but the mosquito problem needs to be addressed & minimized. Other than the mosquitos the course is super cool & fun to play. The staff was super friendly & very helpful, I look forward to being able to play the course many more times in the near future…..hopefully!
Interesting concept
Hello, played the course in perfect conditions with a little wind here and there. Course conditions were pretty good for a new layout. I've played on the golf channel am tour, and now on the US am tour for a good 20-plus years. Knowing what I do about the game of golf, it,s a 50/50 chance this concept will take hold nationwide. It,s a fun course too play, but the majority of golfers are so used to playing normal 18-hole courses. Your staff put in a lot of hard work at the facility there in Baytown. Some players will warm up too the concept I know. I guess the years going by will let everybody know if it,s a hit or miss. With me it,s a hit, and it,s what we need in the ever-changing golf landscape going forward. Thank you and God-bless.
Good Time Golf
If you are looking for a day on the course with no time constraints and some adult beverages this is the place for you. If you want to play a 4 hour round and play some quality golf then this course isn't for you.
No Marshal on course with 4 person carts with only two golf bags. So it's very casual and not for golfers who want to improve their game.
Great greens, and tee boxes.
Really cool layout, my son and I had a blast. Very friendly staff and accommodations.
Not bad for Baytown cow pasture pool
This is my second time playing here. First time was the very first weekend it opened. I can gladly say it’s gotten much better since then. The greens were absolutely pure with very few bad spots. Fairways were good too. Tee boxes are in great shape. Mosquitoes were awful last time I was here. Today I didn’t get bit once. The only problem I have with this course is the cost. If you’re not booking a hot deal, it’s $65 on the weekend. That’s about what Eagle Pointe charges and I can definitively say I’d prefer to play at Eagle. This is probably a good place to hop out at after work and play a quick round during the week. Lastly, the restaurant is still not open which sucks. Overall, 4/5 for me.
It’s 9 holes right on top of 9 holes
Don’t waste your money it’s literally just 9 holes right on top of 9 holes, shooting the same fareway in opposing directions NOT WORTH IT
Diamond in the rough
I must say the concept of this golf course is amazing. It has a different flavor for a true golfer. Yes the golf course is very new, or should I say revamped. There's definitely some need of growth in the fairways but overall it is a very interesting course to play. The clubhouse is going to be phenomenal and a hot bed for people to come and hang out and have a great time. The staff is very knowledgeable and very professional just give it some time and you will see that it is truly a diamond in the rough
Yikes… 🥸
This is just one of those brilliant ideas that just don’t work. Shared 9 holes with separate greens just doesn’t work pace of play and hole creativity. Drainage on the course is not good so do not recommend playing when it rains. Staff was great and very friendly. Does not live up to Troon golf course expectation.
