Clinton Hill Country Club
About
Clinton Hill Golf Course has a classic, player-friendly layout that has been open to the public since 1970. The traditional design is gentle enough for beginners but there are still challenges in store for the more experienced golfer. The rolling fairways are lined with mature trees and the approach to the massive greens demands proper club selection. The greens are in good condition but they can be tricky and hard to read. Each nine has a distinct character and different set of challenges that will keep golfers on their toes. While the front nine is longer with numerous strategically placed bunkers, water hazards come into play on all but two holes on the back nine. In addition to having an enjoyable layout that appeals to a wide range of skill levels, Clinton Hill Golf Course is also a great value.

Unfriendly staff and price differs so if you do play pay online
The course has gone downhill. Fairways were hard and tee boxes beat up. The staff are a JOKE and io would never have them working for me. Also, book online not at the course because it's double the price which is absurd!
Good Starter course
This is a good starter course. Unfortunately, it was Fall when I went so leaves were everywhere. It would have been nice not to have dealt with them.
Hitting off hard pan!
The greens were in great shape, the fairways were like hitting off hard pan and my teeth are still rattling from riding on the cart path.
Back nine very challenging
Good course.for the money. Would not play it every week. Back nine very challenging. Front nine average.
Awesome greens
I really appreciated the Lady Tee Boxes. The course is challenging, beautiful and fun.
Clinton Hill Golf Course
The overall experience was above average. The pace of play was excellent and the staff was friendly and courteous.
Worst Golf Experience EVER
Booked an 11:09 AM tee time at Clinton Hill for Sunday, August 2, 2015 for 3 people. My group gets there about 10:30 AM. Obviously, we see that it is busy, so we go to the putting green until it’s our turn. As we are driving up to the 1st tee, two twosomes jump in front of us. Found this out because we asked if they had a tee time and they did NOT, but the pro shop said to go ahead. So as a result of groups jumping in front of us, the play becomes slower. Our group did not tee off until 11:20 AM because of those groups jumping in front of us. The front nine play took about 2 hours and 45 minutes, but from what we could see, every group was on top of each other. The 10th tee was backed up 2 groups deep because people are taking their sweet time inside with food and drinks. Finally on the 12th tee, we see the reason why play was so slow, it was a foursome about 4 groups in front of us that had a 2 hole gap in front of them. They took at least 10 minutes looking for one of their balls on 13 fairway. After we look at the whole situation, I call the pro shop and speak to Nick Doelling (Head Golf Pro). I explain the whole situation to him, so he says, “We will send someone out to look into it”. Needless to say NOT one marshal or pro shop employee comes out the rest of the back nine. It took us 5 hours and 30 minutes to play 18 holes.
The condition of the course goes as follows:
Tee boxes: horrible
Fairways: horrible (as long as the rough)
Greens: ok (long and shaggy)
Bunkers: some were great and others had no sand in them
I would NOT and will NOT be spending another dime at this course.
Overall great experience
We had a walking threesome in front of us. And course Marshall was great helping us play past them. Only issue we had was golf cart had trouble.
Decent
This is an average course. I wouldnt pay more then $25 to play here because of their avg fairways. Course can be challenging. I wish they invested more $ in the fairways then this could be a great course but with Stonewolf being 10 mins away this is a great $25 course. To pay more then that should be a crime.
No Course Ranger - SLOW
Have played course many times, used to play every Saturday. I have always liked the course but due to work don't play as much as I used to. Thursday afternoon, course was not at all crowded, there were 2 twosomes playing in front of us, all four very slow players. Twosome in front of us were inexperienced, and while that isn't the issue - glad they are learning the game - there was no ranger to speed up play, tell them not to drive cart on the green's fringe, etc. They shared a putter so when they were on opposite sides of the course's large greens, one would putt, then walk to the other side of the green to share putter. Just would have appreciated a ranger to teach these young men how to play at correct pace. Guys in front of them were also very slow, not due to inexperience but the one guy took - I'm not kidding - 14 practice swings and lined every shot up from behind his ball twice. This round wouldn't have been enjoyable if it was free. At the turn, one of the attendants in the clubhouse went and asked both groups to speed up, but then went back to the clubhouse. The other attendant (course pro?) then came out later but told us it "was the normal pace of play". I would agree for foursomes, but not twosomes. He also did offer us a "rain check" which we declined. We skipped ahead three holes, finished and left frustrated. Clinton has not been like this in the past, I hope it was just a poorly managed day. I will not return until this day becomes a distant memory.
Nice course
Course was wet, but with all the rain we thought it would be worse. Actually course played pretty well.
Visors to the staff.
Great course
Course is in great condition it has it challenges but it's a good challenge
More please!
I want more! This was quite the course, excellent staff to include the grounds keepers, the course was just enough challenge to keep you on the edge of your game but not too overwhelming. Wish there were more courses like it, so far the BEST VALUE for your buck bar none. Expertly maintained, grounds keepers are top totch and very attentive to the players! Awesome job guys! I'll be back real soon...
Rude Players
Started of in a rain delay, nobodies fault not a problem. But as the painful slow play continued the group behind us started to hit into us while we were waiting for the group in front of us. I have played here many times before & always encounter rude people. The course was in good shape, the greens fine but inconsistent pace. If you can avoid the rude people this is a good place to play
Good course
I Can't wait to play again, I shot a 83. Course was in pretty good shape and would recommend to my golf group
Beware
First off, i hate bad reviews...rarely is an experience worth a complaint, but here it goes. It was a perfect day for golf, my dad and I had our Golf now tee time set and we're ready for a good day. Upon arriving we were "greeted" by the crabbiest older man who seemed most uninterested in our Golf now purchase. He was rude and even let some group who had no tee time go to the tee box at our exact time. They thankfully let us play through but would take shots at us when we were waiting for another group to finish a hole, so rude. That group in front of us was a group of 6, and slower than it takes to get one of those ridiculous gas powered golf carts going. A 6 some?!? Really? Unbelievable that it was allowed, a complete disrespect for the game and the players around them. The course looked terrible except for the greens and I'm excited to not play here again. Step it up Clinton hills, you have so much potential that you aren't using.
Great Value For the Price
Thanks to Golf Now for offering an excellent rate on the 18 hole greens fees. Course was in outstanding condition, making our round much more enjoyable. I registered as a twosome and the starter initially paired us up with another twosome, but upon mutual consent we separated after the first hole. This had very little effect on the pace of the rest of our round. Course layout very good, with the clubhouse conveniently located at the turn.
Lost fairways in May????
This is not the first time I have played Clinton HIll. I was very impressed with the greens, they rolled very smooth. A bit more firm then I would expect in May, but not to firm to hold shots. The fairways and tee boxes were a total different story. Every single fairway was dirt. No joke it was like play off the infield of a softball diamond that has sat all winter. Every other tee box was in the same shape. You know its bad when your group picks the ball up out of the fairway and puts it in the rough just to be able to play from grass. I knew it was May the weather was beautiful like it should be in May, but the course made it feel like it was the end of August after a 12 week drought. Regular greens fee w/cart is $40 bucks. We found a hot deal on golf now for $20 or I would have been extremely frustrated and not nice I'm sure. Anyways I would waste my time at this course even for 20 bucks.
Scottie
For the money
Course had a few dead spots in the fairway, but other than that was in decent shape. Biggest complaint was there were a couple groups playing on a 5+ hour pace that would not let people play through... Had 3 groups stacked behind them waiting. I finally skipped 2 holes to go around.
