Awesome round!
Loved the course layout from start to finish. Lots of hills and blind shots which made it fun and very challenging. The greens, tee boxes, and fairways were in great shape, you can see the maintenance crew puts in the work there. Definitely will be back!
Matthew
Great mountain course, have to play it a few times to know layout
One more thing….
It is challenging but has some forgiving holes too. All it needs is a practice range and it would be among the best.
Beautiful course
This is a beautiful course with a very cool setting.
A lot of hills to play around with natural beauty.
Great Course
The course was in great condition, good price and courteous staff. The only improvement I would recommend would be better yardage markers, they were few and far between.
Beautiful course
The course was in great shape and is in a beautiful setting. Blind shots make the course dangerous in places.
Fun round
Great round. Cart path only due to rain the previous day. Only problem was they were out of draft beer at the View Grill after the round.
Good Course for the Money
Played here during our Family reunion trip. Course is set in the Mountains. Great setting and great views from several Tee's especially the 1st. A few tight fairways and plenty of open fairways. Greens were super slow but in great condition. NO Practise Range. They do have a practice putting area. The Grill is closed on Sunday and Monday which was a bummer but there is plenty of places two minutes down the street to get food. Pro Shop was ok. I like to pick up shirts when I visit different courses but they didn't have any that I could see.
Worst round at Butternut Creek
We usually love this course. Today, the starter told us there was a women's scramble ahead of us. He told us it would probably take 4 and 1/2 hours to play. Since we had prepaid, we had no choice. I saw someone else starting on #10 to avoid this. I asked if we could do the same. But he told us that he was playing only 9, and if we wanted to play 18, we had to start on one. Why??? This is a rural course on a Thursday. Besides the ladies ahead of us, there were very few other golfers on the course. There was NO reason to not let us start on the back, especially since he knew the problem we were going to be facing. I have played dozens of courses across the country, and have been allowed to start on the back numerous times when scrambles or tournaments were starting on the front. It took us 4 hours and 45 minutes to finish, and that is only because the ladies in front of us didn't play the last two holes to avoid some coming bad weather. Otherwise it would have been well over 5 hours. We had to wait on 16 straight holes. Miserable. This could have been avoided by the starter, but he didn't care about the enjoyment of our round.
