Lake Bluff Golf Club
About
Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

Solid but Not Spectacular
I always enjoy playing at Lake Bluff....unless the course is flooded. Played 12 holes in about 2 hours before I had to head home....greens were is good shape, and had an enjoyable time.
Great bang for the buck at Twilight hours.
Lake Bluff
Course seems to be in flux. In court on it’s future I heard. . Far cry from it’s heyday but still tons of fun. Fun layout, decent greens and a screaming deal.
1st time here in many years
most greens and fairways were nice. greens were slow and rough was long. it had rained for two days straight before. probably couldnt cut them on the regular day. lots of dog legs made it interesting. good value.
Decent course for decent price
I was expecting a lake but there was no lake to be found. The course was okay but super dried out. You couldn’t even fix ball marks on the green it was so dry. When I arrived there was no bag stand anywhere, the driving range was TORE up, and the hot dog at hole 10 was the worst I have ever had. But besides those things, the course wasn’t bad. I would say $45 with a cart is the most I’d pay for this course.
Disappointed
Wanted you to wait 1hour pas reservation time to play. REALLY!
Disappointed
Went for our 2pm tee off time and the manager said it would be a 45 minute wait. Wouldn’t go back
No ranger
Group I'm front of us took 6 hrs to play there were3 to ,4 holes open ahead of them and no ranger
Nightmare
We had to wait an hour past our tee time before they had a cart available for us to take. We had not one, but two, carts crap out mid-round. It took us 5.5 hours to play 18 because we were waiting on almost every tee box and fairway.
Great value for money
First time playing this course and was not disappointed. I played the front 9 only, which was fairly straightforward. Not a lot of elevation change at all, but the challenge came mainly off the tee where you can be punished for not keeping the ball near the fairway as most fairways are tree-lined. Fairway and green conditions were excellent and much better than I was expecting, although it appears carts are allowed to drive within 5-10 yards of the green and greenside bunkers. Walking this course is very easy.
