Woodbine Golf Course

Sad to see any Golf Course close. Nice sporty course always treated well when there. Woodbine many south suburban golfers will miss you more than anyone thinks. So Long Old Friend

Totally neglected sand traps and cartpaths. Inconsistent greens. First time playing couldn't find the next tee box,needed signs.good course forbeginners

This is a great game to boost your confidence when playing badly, too bad it's going to close after the season!!

Great "Go To" Course. I really miss this place since it closed. Always had an enjoyable time. Thanks foor the Memories to the entire Staff at Woodbine.

Nice course. Greens and fairways were well kept. Course just didn't have Ny wow factor for me though. Fairly difficult but plain

Woodbine is a very familiar track. Always in good shape and the people and restaurant and bar are terrific.
The course can be challenging when the wind is blowing.
You can score well here, not a lot of hazards to deal with. Excellent fairway and green conditions.

I found Woodbine to be a beautiful course with undulating greens. Winding water hazards, and plays fairly long. I'm saddened to report it will be closing soon.

Had I gone on a day it wasn't raining, it would have been perfect. The only problem is the staff was dull in the pro shop and the ranger actually slowed down the rate of play by cutting across fairways just before we were about to tee off.

I heard that the village of Homer Glen purchased this property, and is going to close the golf course. That would be such a shame. When was the last time a golf course has been built in Illinois? And there will probably NEVER be another built the way things are going. The Chinese are buying golf courses all over the world right now, sell the course to them, take your profits and buy land somewhere else to built your municipal buildings. I'm sure there would be a large profit, and there is plenty of vacant land in that area. Had to get that off my chest.
Anyway, this is a very nice golf course, well cared for, the staff is very nice. The only problem I had, because this was my first time here was finding the next hole. There should be some signs or something. Homer Glen residents should definitely strike up a fuss about closing this golf course, it is a real asset to their community.

I recommend it, I love the deal I got even better it makes it easier on my pocket therefore I cAn go more often, will definitely go back and tell golfers about Golfnow.

Slowest round of golf I have ever played (even for a Sunday at 1pm). I know it's slower on weekend afternoons. But, every tee box had carts bunched up. Basically played a hole and wait 5-10 mins to tee off on next hole. My only guess is they were way way overbooked. Left after 11 holes - could not take the pain anymore. Should have packed it in after 9 holes. Will not play here again.

Most (all) fairway bunkers were dried out and grass is growing in them. Beat up bunkers.

I like the course. It's wide and open. Fairways and greens are well maintained. It will be better if carts has gps and drinking stations.

It's a nice course, looks like they might be bought out or have to close after the season. Not a bad course but greens were like cement, trees around looked like they were dying. Looks like they don't want to put extra money into the course if it is closing.

Course was in great shape and flew through an early morning round. Would be a shame to see them close down.

Woodbine had the fairways and greens in great shape as usual, but the traps are not being kept up. Not even a good raking.

!st I have played this course in about 20 years It has changed a bit tree got bigger lol.It's to bad that the village bought the property and are going to level the course and build a village hall and some baseball fields ect.

Played at 7 am the night right after a terrible storm and the course was ready for play.

I played this course 26 years ago and can't beleive how great the people and course is. I was shocked to find out it was sold and future in question.

This is not the nicest course in the area. But it is prob the best deal in the area. Fairways and greens were in decent shape, but rock hard. Wedges bouncing off the greens. This is s good place to build confidence and get some practice in. Quite forgiving and very little trouble tee to green.
