Gave it a second chance
The first time I played here I ran into a group of arrogant older gentleman who didn’t like what I had to say to them in response to their comments. The same thing happened this time with a different group. I keep a good pace of play and I don’t crowd the people in front of me when I play as a single because a group who is keeping good pace doesn’t need to have someone playing into them. This is the only course in northwest indiana and the south suburbs I get into it with someone every time I come here. I’d have gladly got paired up with another group had the starter decided to do that. That being said I won’t be back. The crowd at this place during the week sucks and it’s not really worth the money anyways.
Starter
This is a great course. However if you happen to bring someone who isn't fully educated on course rules avoid this course. The starter was incredibly rude. We were on time for our start. I'd brought someone who is new to golf and the starter was super rude to him. It's a great way to drive younger people away from the game and this guy needs to do better
Been to better
I’m not a well seasoned golfer, but have been to many different courses. River Pointe is just “ok”. Challenging course, somewhat confusing layouts though. Lot of dog legs makes it difficult to locate your pin at times. Course is pretty well kept, not Augusta, but not a dump either. Not sure I’ll come back to play here again, but over all it was probably a 6/10.
Solid challenge
The Course is looking great and really can challenge you in many different approaches. Club house was nice and staff was friendly and helpful.
River Pointe
I played the Red / White rotation at River Pointe on 10/16. I’ve only played here once before and from what I can deduct the Red nine is the oldest of the three nines with the Blue being the newest. I never played the Blue course but from what I can tell it looks in excellent shape. The Red and White courses present challenges with some dogleg holes that you will need to know your “carry” yardages and where to aim your tee shot. While the Red course was not in as good shape as the White, it was still fun to play. My favorite holes, between the two nines, would be Red #8 & #9. They are working on the Red & White courses. The greens rolled true and had a good pace to them. The bunkers were also in great shape. The staff was very friendly and professional. I would go back.
Tough golf
Tough golf because it was cold and then it started to rain.course was in good condition.
Raining golf
Day started good but the rain showed up and game went downhill from that!
Great golf
Course was well maintained, that helps play a better game of golf.
Ask not to be put on Red course
This place has 3 separate 9 hole courses. Blue, white, red. I've played the blue and/or white a few times this year but yesterday was asked to play the red for my back 9. While the white and blue courses are in pretty good shape, challenging and fun to play the red course not so much, it's beat up and needs work everywhere. Tee boxes are beat up and greens are in need of watering. There is obviously repairs needed on the red course and seem to be in the process of doing so with trenches for irritation repair open and being worked on. Maybe in the future the red course will be as nice as the other 2 but for now isn't worth paying to play on. Facilities and staff were nice and friendly for the most part.
Home town visit
Andy and the staff were the best. Enjoyed the day golfing.
Red Course
This club has 3 nine hole configurations, Blue, White, and Red. The Red is in significantly worse condition than blue or white. The only way i would recommend this course is playing the blue/white rotation. It was quite nice.
Excellent Course!
I'm not too picky when it comes to courses, but this course played very well and was very well kept! The rough was reasonable, the greens were in great shape, and the fairways were great. Overall, I would highly recommend this course to anybody.
