Cape Neddick Country Club
About
Cape Neddick Country Club occupies a scenic stretch of rugged Maine coastline, just 45 minutes south of Portland and just over an hour north of Boston. The gentle start offered by the front nine is nicely balanced with the more challenging back nine. Be sure to build up your score on the player-friendly first half because greater accuracy will be required for the final stretch of the golf course. With plenty of variety among all of the holes, the layout will test your skill with different types of shots. There are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, providing tricky uphill and downhill lies. The contours are complemented by strategically placed bunkers that lurk along the challenging greens. Water hazards also come into play on several holes at Cape Neddick Country Club.

Friendly relaxing course
Staff was great. Went out of their way to make sure enjoyed the round. Course was in great shape fairways plush. Greens in good shape but little slow. Course not very difficult. Almost no traps and minimal water. Good vacation course
The front 9 are very beautiful.
I didn't like getting paired up with a couple of guys who thought they were gift's to golf. It took the fun out of the expierience. But, I would enjoy playing there again.
Better Values Exist in Area
I have been looking at this course on Golfnow for about a year and finally had the opportunity to play. Overall, I had a good experience, people were friendly, I enjoyed the golfers I was paired up with, and the course provided a good challenge to my skill level.
However, I found the course expensive for the quality and condition of the course. Better if located right on the ocean for better views. Rough and worn spots around many greens.
Sorry, but I can not recommend this course, for the money, there is comparable golf in southern Maine and New Hampshire seacoast for less money.
Not worth the price
Very hard to find and disappointing when you get there. The rack rate for 18 holes with cart was $80 for 18 holes. Course maintainance was poor, particularly in the pitching areas around the greens. Seemed that they did not have a full irrigation system as they were watering the green manually. I play numerous courses in New Hampshire that are well maintained with immaculate greens and never pay more than $40 for 18 holes. This course is worth $30-35 max. Played with a couple from Baltimore who were on vacation and they were very disappointed in the course.
Course in great condition!
Very nice course - good for all levels. Some ocean breezes and sounds too! Play it!
Great layout and condition
Very nicely laid out course. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in outstanding condition. Friendly staff. Looking forward to playing here again. Highly recommend to others.
Great course & Friendly Staff
I had a great first experience at Cape Neddick CC. Everyone that I crossed paths with was extremely friendly and the course was in excellent shape. It's a decent course for a beginner - only one forced carry on the course. As an intermediate golfer, I enjoyed the challenging holes as well as the less-challenging par 4's - love a course that affords me a couple birdie opportunities!
Cape Neddick
The 1st time the front is tricky, many blind shots to unknown green positions. Back is more traditional. Greens were in good condition, but a bit slow.
New England course
We love playing CN as it is close to where we live. We have been very fortunate to get great twosomes to play with. It is a typical New England course with up the hill and down the hill greens. It could use a ranger to keep things flowing. We played behind a twosome but they had a foursome in front of them who were taking 2 or 3 shots each...no ranger insight.
hidden gem in southern Maine
Very nicely laid out just enough hazards to make it a fun course to play.Having a golf range is a huge plus.
Good choice for the area
Staff were all very pleasant.... from the pro shop, workers on the course, the restaurant - all were nice.
The course has some good challenging holes and a nice terrain. The course in general appeared to be in relatively good shape with workers doing improvements on many holes (but not in our way). We were expecting better scenery (given the area the course is in), but found it quite "plain" and lacking anything that stood out. Example: no good views in the distance, flowers, water, fountains, etc
Greens were in very good shape and most were of a good size. Sand traps were well groomed with "sand" (yeah!).
You need to know where you are going from one hole to the next on many holes. Thankfully the pro shop warned us about how to get to hole 8 from 7 (I think it was). We enjoyed our round and the course and feel that we have rated it fairly.
Octoberfest in June
The course was in pretty good shape but for a few fairways on the back 9 that were being repaired and poorly marked. It was a warm day and although the water in the coolers was good, I never once saw a beverage/snack cart during my 18 holes of play. I enjoyed the distance and challenge of the holes as well as the couple that I paired up with who were visiting the U.S. from Germany. I look forward to seeing how the course turns out once fairway repairs are complete.
Great spring day
I took my 7 year golfing for the first time here. We had a blast. Conditions were good. I will come back and recommend you visit sometime. My son and I are turkey hunters and believe it or not called in a beautiful Tom turkey on the 13th hole. We made a video and plan on sending to the course website for sharing!
Great Price and fun course
Enjoyed course. Nice tees and fairways. Early in season and dont think greens were cut yet this year. They look they will be nice in a few weeks. Would play again,
Late October
Very nice course. Will probably play there again. The deal I got at GolfNow sealed the deal. Good layout, in good shape for late October.
Hidden gem
A great course hidden away. Don't be fooled by the yardage. The holes are tricky, especially the par3s. The par 5s are quite long and narrow so watch out if you want to play your handicap. Or just forget it and have fun. It's wort it.
Played toward the end of the season but it was still very well kept. Unfortunately the restaurant/bar facilities were already closed. Nonetheless a good course without any gimmicks.
Always a great time at Cape Neddick
We had a great time on the course. It was a little wet so cart path only but still place your shots and it is a fun course. Always beautiful.
Not worth more than 40
Saw the deal on golf now for 4.00 and starter wouldn't honor golf bows price. Instead he charged me full price for off season... So there was that... Front 9 was full of aeration holes and sand everywhere on greens, had to play front 9 twice because they were aerating the back 9. Kinda rinky dink but okay overall course. Good for 40 bucks but ABSOLUTELY not a penny more
Beautiful, walkable w/ tricky greens.
Beautiful, walkable w/ tricky greens. Just enough hazards , but not so crazy as some.Great Fall conditions and wide fairways. Good for any golfer who enjoys a bit of challenge in a lovely area of ME.Only downside was poor transition to the back 9 from the front with additional groups jumping in front, so we skipped a few holes to move along :( Might be an end of season thing, less hands on deck to monitor the flow.???
