The Bay Club in Berlin, just a few miles from Ocean City, boasts two 18-hole championship courses, the West and the East. Both golf courses play through mature woodlands but they also incorporate plenty of water. In fact, the original West Course is the more well known course due to its famous island green hole. Aptly nicknamed "Devil's Island," this treacherous par 3 is both the signature hole and an Eastern Shore landmark. Not only is the green surrounded by hills that slope back into the water, the hole also plays into prevailing wind. Golfers will need proper club selection a good strategy and a bit of luck to tackle this hole. The layout is also home to the "Green Monster," a massive double green that serves the ninth and 18th holes.

Great Experience
From the moment we arrived at Bay Club until the moment we left, both me and the other person I played with had an amazing experience.
From checking in and paying to getting greeted by the starter, the whole staff was super friendly. We had an 8am tee time on the West course, and the starter gave us an option: we could play behind a threesome on the west, or be the first out there on the East. We had wanted to play Devil's Island, so we chose the West option. Another thing we really liked was that they didn't pair us up with another 2 players. I feel like most people want to play with only 2 when booking, and people normally get paired up. Playing as a two made the round fly by.
The course was amazing. The greens were sneaky, but still gave the roll an opportunity to fall. Although the rough was really thick, the course played amazing. I had actually shot my best round ever until I reached the 9th hole.
The 9th and 18th share a massive green, lake, and some bunkers. Both the 9th and 18th were the hardest holes in my opinion, and both holes ruined my score.
The lady in the kitchen was one of the nicer ladies I have every met. She was super generous and willing to help, and had the thick Maryland accent that almost all Jersey boys love.
For 60 dollars, I would recommend this place to anyone. If you are staying in OCMD, it is about 15 minutes off the island, and the price for what you get was so worth it.
Great experience, would absolutely play there again. I have added a logo ball to my collection.
Tight course no views
I was surprised it was tight with no views, overall ok to play, greens nice
Short but challenging
It was rainy day, but it did not affect play. Thought the course was in great condition. I felt the greens were well reachable in regulation for the average player, but the tight the fairways, sand traps, and small greens added difficulty that I enjoyed. Will play again and would recommend.
good course but poor conditions
The course was very wet and too many leaves that you lose your ball if only 3-4 yards off the fairway.
Perfect Fall Golf Day
I'm not sure why the East course gets more love than the West at the Bay Club. I find the West to be a much more interesting layout with a few water holes mixed in with a bunch of dog legs running through the woods. The course had recently taken on some water and some fairways were soft, but the course was in good shape overall and the greens were fast and true. The staff was extremely friendly and pace of play on a gorgeous fall Monday afternoon was fairly wide open. The golfnow price included a bucket of balls. Great value for the money.
Great course, but condition fair to average
Great course, but due to recent wet weather, very muddy and soft. Greens were too soft, though pretty decent speed.
Layout is great, with wonderful two island greens.
Great day spent near the beach
Decided to try Bay Club after many years. Opted for the West course and joined a deuce on the 1st green. Had an excellent time with the 2 fine men from Lancaster, Pa. Had a lot of laughs resulting from some not-so-great shot attempts.Weather was perfect for late October and course was in great shape and very fair and playable.
A shout out to ALL the staff who were very cordial and helpful. Much appreciated guys and ladies. Had such a great day that I returned the next day to play the East side. Same warm reception and service, including a rack rate discount. Will definitely return. Thanks to all.
October trip
Greens rolled very true. Good putting surface. Nice fairways that were a little narrow. Overall nice place to play. Friendly staff.
It's the end of the summer
Course is not in good shape. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens are all fair at best. They have begun aeration on one of their nines and should be complete in two weeks. West course is still open. Greens were super soft and slow.
Great Course - West Course, highky recommended.
I really enjoyed the course and staff. Super nice staff. A lot of challenging dog legs but the fairways were plenty big enough if you choose the right club. Condition of the course is great, some bunkers are rocky and some are perfect. Pace was fine but I had an Asian guy hitting in to me (did it twice on the front nine) then to a group in front of me on he back nine. I did not see any draft beer so headed out afterward (I prefer draft). Great Course, going back when we vacation at Ocean City next week.
Slow play
course in good shape but slow play ruined the experience. Took us 5 hr 20 min to play. didn't see a ranger all day, One group 2 foursomes ahead of us had 3 to 4 holes open in front of them all day. Complained at the turn only got a smart answer. Too many courses in the area will never go back.
Slow play.
Very slow pace of play. Semi challenging course not in good condition.
Great course
For winter conditions the course was great. Greens little bumpy but good speed. Well maintained. Love to play again in warm weather
Weather, Weather, Weather
Course was great, wind didn't help out, gusts to 50 made for a very challenging day.
