There are two 18-hole championship golf courses available at the Bay Club in Berlin, which is conveniently situated just a few miles outside of Ocean City. Both the East and West Courses are routed through mature woodlands and incorporate 426 acres of lakes and wetlands, both man-made and natural. The East Course was the second course at the club, added in 1999. Measuring just over 7,000 yards, it is the longer of the two golf courses but only by about 50 yards. While the original West Course may be famous for its signature island green hole, dubbed "Devil's Island," the East also boasts an island green. The "Paradise Island" green may not be as dramatic but it is certainly still a challenge. The golf course is also known for being one of the only courses in the area to feature tour-quality Zoysia grass fairways.

Course condition start of season sure as move into summer will be better . Pace was good long for my wife off greens . Fairways for the most part forgiving .
West Course - Nice Layout
We just left the course and we had a great time. They accommodate us with all of our tee times and was treated with great respect. Hole 9 and 18 share the green and its challenging the first couple of days. The PGA Pro Stuart Fisher was very helpful and made our stay at the course wonderful. The entire staff was friendly and very cheerful and happy to help us. I would highly recommend this course.
Nothing Great
Playing from the green tees was fine for us considering the conditions. It had rained heavily the day before so the course conditions were poor. The course really shouldn't have been open it was sooo wet. The winds were also strong. Cart path only which also makes for a longer round. I would like to try this course again when playing conditions are better. Overall not a difficult course.
Nice courses
Was supposed to play the East course first, but the weather was bad so we played the West first the next day. The Pro Shop was cordial in re-booking the East without me having to go through GolfNow (Thank you!).
The West course is generally tighter and harder in my opinion and the fairways were in better condition, but both are nice and very playable courses.
Bay Club
I find this course to be a little difficult, that being the west course. Small greens and tight fairways. It is a very fun course. Chipping and bunker play is key here because you will miss a few greens. Play is always slow.
Still in Winter Shape
For the time of the year, the course was in good shape. I played the east course which has the Zoysia grass in the fairways. Zoysia grass goes dormant in the cold months and doesn't green and thicken up until about mid-spring. The east course is a bit easier than the west because it's more open. The west requires a lot more accurate shots off the tee or you'll find yourself in the trees.
70 degrees in December
What can I say 70+ degrees just twelve days before Christmas, and considering we have had temps below freezing the greens were in great shape.
Great locals environment
very nice course
i will def play there again... Play there one other time and wasnt really impress.
However, I have to say, this time course was very nice.
Green were fast and true.
Par 2 long and difficult.
Bunkers...Do not go in them, never seen bunkers edged like that. Tree Lined, better keep it play to score. But under trees was playable.
I would play this course again for sure.
Club House Needs to torn down and re-built, then this place would really have it all, also get rid of those Gas Carts.
Good Course
The course was in good condition considering the time of the year. We felt it was challenging enough for the intermediate as well as advance players. It's definitely not as hard as the West Course; but still you can get in a great round of golf.
Nice course with open fairways
Great value. Course is in good shape. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed playing the course.
Tale of Two 9's - Watch out for Mosquitos on West Course!!
We had a GREAT Experience on West course back 9 (our 1st 9). THEN we ran into an infestation of mosquitos and sand flies that RAN us off the course - They were on ALL 8 holes (1-8) we played on the West 2nd 9 .... So, we didn't even play 9! There were a dozen mosquitos on us at all times. We could only really finish 2 holes. I went in to talk to Pro Shop but it was late (6:30 pm#, so they had closed ... Just BEWARE of the Mosquitos on the WEST! Hopefully, they address this problem. I've never seen anything like it outside of a pure swamp. NOW the Course was in excellent condition BUT this ruined our experience. We hardly played ANY of the holes on the 2nd 9 ##'s 1-9) ... Maybe the Locals KNOW & they play the East course. Anyway, great rate & very nice course BUT the mosquitos were HORRIBLE! Just beware ... maybe call the pro shop before you book to get the scoop. Good luck!!
Bay Club on a Thursday in June
Played in 2.5 hours.
Great deal for $35, no one on front, no one on back, all for myself.
West in great shape, East just okay...
Played both East and West courses over 2 days. West course was in very nice condition with greens rolling very well. East course with brown, dormant fairways was difficult to get used to, and didn't like the design as much as the West course, but it was fun to play nonetheless. The island greens on the West course were a lot of fun to play to, especially in the wind. :)
BTW, be sure to check out the putter lodged high in the tree behind the 2nd green on the East course. It's been there a long time, with the tree growing around it. One of the friendly staff members showed it to me. :) Someone must have had a tough day on the greens a few years back. :P
Overall I enjoyed my time at the Bay Club and will definitely be back. :)
Friendly Staff and Members
Members were gracious and didn't mind a single joining them and made me feel welcome as did all staff members, other courses could learn from them.
Really well Maintained
This course has some of the best fairways I have played and is beautiful. The only downside is some of the sand traps are really hard sand/ almost solid ground but it was the end of October after all. The course is pretty long at almost 6750 yards but very playable
traditional parkland course
Course was in excellent condition, especially the greens. Holes nicely laid out through woodlands. Friendly staff, great value.
dave
Course seems to cater to drunken a-holes. Marshals not getting it done.
