Poor coordination
Undortunately they had a tournament on the front 9 and had us start off the back. They did not tell us about the tournament until after we made the turn and had to wait 30 minutes for the last group in the tournament to finish number 9 and play 1. (It was a 9 hole ladies tournament). If that wasn't bad enough, we had to wait for the other foursomes that were already waiting to tee off. We played number 1 then quit as we were waiting on the first hole 15 minutes and saw that we had to wait again on number 2. Many other nice courses in the area than to waste time at this one.
Nice course, select staff rude
The course itself was in good shape. John the starter was helpful with course instruction, the man in the clubhouse was pleasant and the bartender friendly but another gentleman working with John outside needs an attitude adjustment. He came across as rude and over the top bossy. He may have thought he didn't sound rude but all four of us were kinda scratching our heads. It may be far from the truth but this guy made us feel like we weren't welcomed to the course because we weren't part of the OP community. There are plenty of other courses near OC we will play.. It only takes one person to undo a pleasant experience unfortunately.

The course layout is both interesting and challenging.
Great Winter Round
For a sub-$40 round in December it doesn’t get much better. Course was in excellent shape. It’s one of the best layouts in the area. Joe, the starter, was courteous and worked around a frost delay to keep pace of play up. If they could get the greens to match the consistency and speed of the practice green it would be perfect.
Didn’t have time to stay around and hangout or at the course pub, but it was inviting enough and everyone else seemed to enjoy it.
Course well kept but keep it in the fairway.
Lots of leaves once you’re off the fairways you can spend a lot of time searching for balls.

in good condition the staff was very nice the pace of play was good I would highly recommend this course to anyone
Op links
Beautiful day. Course was in excellent shape tee to green. Driving range is well marked and very nice as well. (Was mats only that day).
Beautiful day!
Course a bit wet in spots. Pace of play on the front nine very slow. Paired with a nice twosome. All and a a great day!
Need a ranger
Played weekday front 9 not bad group in front of us took 1 hour to complete hole 10 and 11 would not let a twosome play through after waiting had to just drive by basically wasted back 9 bag attendant apologized but that just don’t cut it for a group to take over 5 hours with no one in front of them is a little tough to take
Poor conditions
Condition of the golf course was below average. Granted, they had a ton of rain the week leading up to our tee time. I’ve heard the course is nice, and maybe it is when it’s dry.. however this course needs to invest in some drainage. For $80 I wouldn’t play it again.
Thank you so much for your honest feedback. You're right - this was poor coordination on our part. Your experience was the result of an employee not following directions for the management of the tee sheet this day. (This employee, incidentally, no longer works at the golf course.) Maintaining pace of play is a bit of an art, and on this day we failed, which resulted in a negative experience for you and some other golfers. We would very much like the opportunity to make this up to you , and hope you'll reach out to us at golf@oceanpinesgolf.org. In the meantime, let us apologize again for your frustration and poor playing experience. Please know that that is not how business is normally done at Ocean Pines Golf Club. Thank you.
