could be my own contry club!
well maintained fairway, the green is superfast and the hole position is challenging.
Great Value to play.
Good condition of course. But pace is a little bit slow even 2 player
Hard ground off the fairways
I liked everything about this course except the hard ground off the fairways. The rough was just that, very rough. The grass was brown and the dirt was like cement. Clubs got a lot of bounce. It looked like they hadn't been watering. The layout was nice. Fairly easy course overall. I had a bad round but that was just me and maybe a little bit of the hard ground
Nice course out in the quiet. No traffice or homes.
I enjoyed the course, it was challenging and in good shape. I thought it was a good value for my money and would return. Used GolfNow the night before to get a Sunday tee time for a single and it worked great.
Nature friendly course
I play this course frequently because it is in a great location, all nature, no homes and it is in very good shape. These weeks the greens have been aerated and are not good to play, but give it one more week and they will be in perfect shape.
GREENS AND FAIRWAYS IN GREAT SHAPE
EASY TRACK THATS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. PLAYING FROM TIPS ARE BEST CHALLANGE FOR ME. STRAYING OUT OF THE WIDE FAIRWAYS CAN HURT YOU, ROUGH IS JUICEY THICK. FAIRWAYS AND GREENS WELL MAINTAINED
The worst staff ever!
The staff at Poolesville need to learn etiquette! The clubhouse personnel are discourteous and downright condescending. The marshall was impolite and dismissive. If Poolesville staff don't get their manners together, nobody will play there!!!
Wide open for teh most part
Lots of leeway off the tees but challenging if you start spraying. Greens needs come attention.
wide open fairway and good greens
The course is relatively long but the fairways are pretty generous except for a few holes. The greens were in great condition and the rough fairly short.
.Good course to play.
Course was in very good shape. Some very challenging holes. Had a lot of fun playing there. Met some friendly people to play golf with and overall played at a good pace of less that 3 1/2 hours.
Boring course with a terrible pace of play
Marshall were trying very hard to speed up the pace when I played last Saturday, but it was helpless. Front nine took 3 hours and I walked off the course and did not finish. Too many hackers out there slowing things down. Some really awful weekend warriors out there making 12's on every hole.
As for the course, it was maintained well enough, but it's a straightforward boring course. Not much elevation change and straightaway holes.
I do not recommend playing here.
Nice county course in good shape this season 2013
Must drive it well here to have a good round especially if you play the blues. But if you drive it well you should be able to score on large smooth greens.
Unfortunately, pace of play is really bad here especially on weekends, but show up early or late on weekends and it wont be too slow.
Played @4pm $40 to ride
A pleasant place to play!
I have played Poolesville about 20 times. I am usually a single and have met a lot of nice people there. The course is always is decent shape and is not too difficult, although it tests your golfing skills.
Good, solid course. Challenging but fair holes. Pace of play ok for a holiday (Memorial Day) weekend. Good value.
Good solid course. Challenging but fair holes. Fast, undulating greens. Pace of play was ok for a busy holiday weekend. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good value.
The course is in very good shape with yardages well marked. the greens are more difficult than they appear.
this is not a short course. while the bunkering is not particularly penal, a ball in the rough will make for a long day, so you had better keep the ball in the fairway if you expect to make a decent score.
This course has a very nice layout
I enjoyed this course, I love the hole layouts. Its not too challenging but not the easiest. It has somewhat open fairways and nice greens. I look forward to playing again soon!
Great condition
Great municipal course. Well maintained. Greens hold and run smooth. Fairways are in great shape. Don't go in the rough or you're in for some chopping.
Not to bad
I have played this course several times and have always wondered, what could have been? The course is kept very nicely, while pristine may be over the top for this course it is still attractive. The pace of play is not bad, mainly because this course is out of the way and not crowded. The staff was very friendly and helpful also.
The bad points are what makes you wonder what could have been. There is no clubhouse. On hot days there is no A/C to go into to unwind after a round. They do have refreshments but they are very limited. Use caution when getting that great tee time also. They have golf leagues in the evening and you will go from having no one in front of you to having an entire league teeing off.
Overall not a bad course and worth the money.
