Long with punishing rough
Westover has a couple very long par 4's and a few par 5's, so long hitters have some advantages. The rough could use a medium cut to transition from fairway to long rough. If you're off the fairway, you're hitting a flyer or chunk every time. It's always busy but efficient at getting you on the course. Beverage cart is great. Staff is good, conditions are good. Great course to walk as it is basically two plateaus so no up/down.
Friendly staff, true greens
Played on a cloudy cool day. Course was in nice condition for this time of year. Greens rolled true, I was able to record quite a few one putts. Some of the side fairways were still a little soggy from previous rains. After 18 we were able to play twilight for $13 more. Got 30 holes in for a long day of well needed golf.
*Can't wait for warm weather!!!
Love love love this course!
We live almost an hour away and this is our favorite course!! The course is well maintained. No leaves on the fairway or greens. Pace of play was quicker on the front nine but we played in 4 hours. Try this course, you will not be disappointed. Oh another fun part of playing is the Westover Air Force base next door. They are practicing their manuevers throughout the day. Planes flying over you. Really cool
wide open with rain
course is in top shape. drains well. started raining when i arrived. pre-paid and to late to cancel so out i went. Finished in 2 hours 15 minutes. Wet and cold shot best round at Westover in 20 years. Despite rain only 2 greens had slight puddling. I play there 2-3 times a year and the course is in great shape
Great muni
Played Westover on a beautiful day after very heavy rain a couple days earlier. The course was in great condition given the amount of rain received recently. Traps were all raked and dry. Course was mowed and very well taken care of. The old tree lined fairways are a gem. Staff was nice. 4 hour round. Greens rolled well and putts were consistent green to green. Worth the hour and 15 minute drive to check it out.
First Visit
The course was in great shape, tees, fairways and greens. When I arrived I noticed that the white tees were 6,700 yards and the gold tees were only 5,400 yards, so I decided to play the white. Perhaps a mistake, since it's the longest course I've played from the whites. Great challenge though and enjoyed the day, even though my score suffered. Look forward to returning on my next visit to the area.
Long course in good shape.
Open course, generous fairways, large greens. Challenging but fun to play.
Solid place to spend an afternoon…
Course is in great shape. Suited for all sorts of skill levels. Pace is generally fine. No holdups and we didn’t hold anyone up. Good place to tune up.
