Challenging layout
I am a member and play 3 or so times a week from May-Oct and occasionally in the off season. I also play at many other clubs around the area and in New England and have played in Florida, Arizona, Ireland and elsewhere. The one thing I can say best about MCC is that I never get sick of it. Every day presents new challenges and you really need to bring focus and hit all the shots to score. Not a long course, but greens are exceptional and well protected. Course conditions are excellent and rough is really thick so you have to keep it in the fairway.
Former member, great course
As a former longtime member (20 years), I saw the course go from good to very good. Marshfield is a classic New England style walkers golf course (greens and tees are very close). The course is not overly long on the card, but for its stated yardage, it plays longer than you'd expect. The course is close to the ocean, so you get decent breezes and it remains playable (for die-hards) for a good portion of the year. There are a variety of shots to be played and overall it is just one of those courses that you never get tired of playing.
