Fun but rough conditions.
This a fun little course and lots of options for tees depending on how you want to play. I played from the whites to make it a true par 3 on all the holes vs playing from the tips, makes some of them par 4s. Conditions were average at best. Greens pretty bad. Not many putts rolled true. For the money it’s not bad to work on your short game. Would go back but keep expectations low.
How Cool
Unreal - this is the 2nd longest 18 hole par 3 in America. 6 par 3's over 235 yards. Greens are coming back from a summer water problem, but roll nice. Fantastic layout, friendly staff, great food and a awesome bar. We grabbed a beer and had a cigar out on the patio looking over the course. Great day!!!
Marginal course
The greens were beat up with portions of the greens missing grass entirely. There was grass clippings all over the place including the edge of the greens. The course layout was a little bit confusing where several holes appeared to share a tee box
Wouldn’t do it again
Been playing golf all over the country and wouldn’t come back here. Greens were ATROCIOUS at best. Huge patches missing on and around the greens. Overgrown grass on every green.
Poor conditions
Things at this course were awful. The conditions were awful they were wet and the greens were in awful shape. I would rather pay the extra few dollars to play at a better more well maintained course.
Decent for beginners/people who aren’t trying to really golf
Course played incredibly slow, tons of ground under repair and the greens were absolutely terrible, akin to temporary greens (which there were actually 2 temporary greens). I’m sure the weather hasn’t been helpful but there were large brown gashes in most of the greens. Extremely buggy as well as it’s in the woods. Lots of little kids around the course too. Wouldn’t recommend at all if you’re actually trying to play some golf. If you’re teaching/learning, or you don’t mind incredibly slow play, go for it.
Not women friendly
The starter asked my female friend and I if we were any good and told us if we weren’t, to start at the junior tees. Also told us not to hold up the pace and started us on the back 9 playing 18. This was not a friendly welcome/first time visit. On top of being incredibly rude and judging our skill level by our sex, $56 EACH for 18 holes on such a terribly tended/cared for course is absurd.
Great day
Our group of four arrived and noticed a group of younger players starting at the first hole. The staff allowed us to start at the 10th tee instead so we wouldn’t have to be behind the eight or nine kids..
We were able to play at a good pace and were spaced out well. The fairways looked great.
The lower rankings were just for the actual greens. A lot of them were quite bare. One of the flies was in the middle of the course but we didn’t expect that so perhaps they’re could’ve been some notification, but everything worked out fine.
Usually Great, Weather Taking its toll
The course appears a bit battered from recent heavy rains - the greens especially. Some temporary hole locations set up as a result. The food in the clubhouse is great for after your round. Cold beers. Great atmosphere with nice folks working there. Give it some time to recover and they can get the conditions back up to par. It’s a great place for a fun, no frills round.
Not worth time or money
Very slow rate of play with no enforcement from rangers anywhere. Greens were in terrible shape, and several had temporary greens (spray-painted circle in middle of fairway). If your course is in this bad of shape at least decrease the price. $55 is absurd for these conditions.
