7th green. This is a beautiful and difficult par three at almost 190. The green is one of the largest on the course and is three-tiered. Be sure to go around the corner to check the hole location, as the shot is somewhat blind from the back tee. Photo submitted by u314161955381 on 12/27/2022

15th green. This is a very interesting risk-reward par five. The green is blind from the fairway up until about 100 yards out, but if you're able to fade a driver over the trees that cut into the fairway on the right, you will be able to go for it. Photo submitted by u314161955381 on 12/27/2022

17th fairway. This long par five has a winding back and forth fairway that takes you deep into the Michigan woods. The fairway is plateaued and either side drops off and you have hardly any room to miss. Photo submitted by u314161955381 on 12/27/2022
Great course
I loved this course! Challenging but not too many water hazards. Very well maintained and fun to play. We will be back!!
A Round Down Memory Lane
First played Firefly in the mid 1970's with parents and high school buddies. Came back nostalgic and really enjoyed myself.
Great work to the Firefly team as everyone was friendly and the course in great shape.
It's good to come home again. Thank you!
Great course
This place is great. The lay out is enjoyable. After the first hole it can get a bit confusing what tee box your playing next but after 2 your good. The only complaint I have is morning tee times suck because hole one has the sun right in your eyes. But other then that I really enjoyed the course.
Nice Course for the $
Course was nice for the price. Small greens but course was in great condition. The pace of play was SLOW.
Solid Local Public Track With Some Very Tough Holes
Eagle Glen just a few minutes away is far superior to this course, but I did still enjoy it. Even though the carts were gas, they were still quite nice Yamahas. The course conditions were pretty decent and some areas of the course were actually excellent. The greens are faster than you think and there are some absolutely brutal slopes on some of them (5, 11, 13, 16 to name a few) and they varied greatly in size, yet you still felt you were on the same course and they flowed together very nicely. No hole felt out of place, and the opportunity holes and the ones where you're just thinking about surviving came at the right times and weren't bunched together. Some wide open holes where you can swing as hard as you want, and some absolutely brutally tight holes where a miss just 5 yards off the fairway is instant death (4, 15, 17 are probably the best example of that). The layout, for only being 6020 yards, is a true test for even a skilled golfer and plays harder than many longer courses I've played. The conditions overall were pretty good, the fairways were a good length and the bunkers were filled and with good sand. The only thing in rough shape were some of the tee boxes, and some of the tee markers didn't match. The pins were pretty haggard as well and ripped up and just flimsy. It'd be nice to see them clean that up. This course gets all the basics right though. Ball washers and towels were decent, and the staff was nice enough to drive our cart out to the parking lot for us and they provide yardage and course map books which unfortunately aren't free but are worth it as I've found this to be a tough course for someone new to it. I'd come back, as it is a good test of a lot of parts of your game with a good variety of holes, but it would be nice to see this course just spiff up some of the minor details..

Great local course
The course is in fantastic shape. Well worth the money and drive to play this course.
Hit or miss
I have played this course a lot over the last 5 years, and last year (2016) it was in the best condition I've ever seen it. The layout can be very challenging if you a having trouble off the tees. Some holes are very tight, lined with trees, and a couple fairways have only a small buffer between fairway and the property line. The greens are small and very spungy, so on a day where they have a lot of play it can be hard to putt around the footprints. I'm not sure that they have every been dethatched and I don't think they are normal mounded sand built greens so they hold a lot of moisture and are usually very soft. On a positive side the fairways are very well maintained and the bunker placements are in challenging locations. During they dry seasons this course can be very fun and challenging but it may have drainage issues. If we get a couple days with a decent rain the course is saturated for a week or more making your ball plug in fairways and roughs causing unessicary drops. I would say timing of when you play this coures will determine your overall experience.
