Pretty good overall
Course is in good shape except the bunkers. They need some help.
Needs some TLC
I really enjoyed the layout and the course was fun to play. It would have been nice to have a map of the course on the scorecard because there were a few tee shots I would have played differently. The staff was friendly. The bunkers were in terrible shape and the cart paths were washed out.
Course was in poor shape
This was our first time at Mistwood this year and right away on the Teebox we noticed how they were in such poor shape. Then we got to the first green and the bunkers were beyond horrendous. Hardly any sand, rocks all over the place, weeds growing up all over the bunkers.
We thought, well, maybe they missed these bunkers so far this spring but then every single bunker was in extremely poor shape and the tee boxes only got worse. Very disappointing for a course we were so looking forward to playing. And then to top it off, at the turn we grabbed a hotdog from the halfway house and it tasted like a chunk of rubber. The gal at the halfway house however, was an energetic, kind, shining star in otherwise a disappointing day.
Great course to play
The course was in great condition and pace of play was excellent. Only issue was no food or bar open at the turn.
Relaxing Day of Golf
Overall the course itself was in pretty good shape. Some of the tee boxes were in rough shape and could use some work to improve.
Relaxing day of golf in 90 degree MI weather.
Shape of the course
I think they need to shut down 9 holes and fix up the 18 other holes. The sand traps were horrible. Maybe having a ranger on the course would help speed up play.
Rates are back to Earth again, love it.
Used to play this It was affordable in good shape with amazing greens.
In the past few years it was over priced and in bad shape.
Today, April 2021, it looked like they are working
hard on getting it back to what it was, and we got a great deal online. Will be back shortly if the price continues to stay affordable and competitive.
Course needs a lot of work
The course is nothing like it used to be. I can't complain too much, since I got the round on a hot deal of $17.00 plus fee. Fairways were in very poor shape, luckily the grass has not started growing yet. The greens were okay, but lots of neglected spots. The tee boxes were overgrown and in poor shape. Pace of play was fine, once we got past the group of six, with a couple of first time players. No snacks available. Won't go back again, until I hear some better news about the maintenance.
No bang for your buck
I’ve given this course a few chances this summer after a couple year hiatus.
The price is out of line with the condition of the course.
Hard fairways, poor mowing jobs, the bunkers are mud pits with rocks all over.
Unless they lower the price per round, I don’t see myself playing there again.
Great last minute find
Played the white course. With a little better up keep, this course would be a solid 4 star for the price. Traps had a lot of rocks in them and fairways and such could use a little love. Fun course and easy to get to from Traverse City. Lots of blind tee shots tho and no maps on course make it challenging in a sense.
Fun for all talent levels
Stayed in the area for a week mostly spending time on the water but planned for some golf with my two adult sons. Reviewed many courses in the area before our trip. This course received very bad reviews so we did not play it until the end of our stay, just by chance. It was the only course we could get on in short notice. What a pleasant surprise! It had enough challenges to keep our interest but allowed my sons (high handicappers) to have some fun. Great scenery and good course conditions that contradicted previous year reviews. We returned the next day to play all 27 holes. Played 3 other courses and didn't have as much fun. Highly recommended. The new Super must have turned the course conditions around. Great price as well.
