Finally tried it, and liked it!
Centennial Acres is not close to my Battle Creek home, but I had read about them and received many of their promotional emails over a couple of years and since I really like to try different places, I wanted to try the course.
Got our foursome together and we took a little road trip.
I found it a fun and interesting course to visit and play. Nice rolling landscape/property.
We did their Midday/Sunset special, which included range balls, and I thought it was a really good value as well as an enjoyable course to play. Would like to go back and try the Sunrise 9 as well.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Other players were also friendly. Appreciated a group asking us if we wanted to play through, so even though they were quite busy, we never really had much waiting, which makes things more pleasant.
Water the Course
Not bad over all, conditions could have been better, pace of play was a little slow at first but did get better on back 9.
Great greens
Played this course on a hot day in a dry spell. The greens were in fantastic shape considering the weather - they held well and rolled true. They appeared to have some type of underground watering system. The rest of the course was well-groomed and surprisingly green, again considering the near-drought the area is experiencing. I would not hesitate to recommend this course to others.
Best Value in Michigan
Centennial Acres really does offer the best value in Michigan. Prices are really good for the quality and variety of the course.
They also host outings and hold their own golf events.
5s across the board.
Sunday
The course was great. They have made a number of improvements since we last played here.
Not happy at all!
Sorry to report that the course was in such bad condition, so we left after the first 9. Roughs looked like they hadn't been mowed in days, Fairways were sometimes just mud with sprigs of grass and had tractor marks running through them. And grass was growing into the cups, which tells me that they haven't been maintained or changed in a while. Never going back.
Great Course
Great course. Great shape. Staff is very friendly.
My spouse loved the new forward tees.
Fun place to play
First time at this course, enjoyed the whole experience, but felt that the Midday 9 was a whole lot better than the Sunrise 9. The par 3's were great, but felt that there were too many short par 4's. Would love to come and play the third 9 (Sunset).
Great Course
This is one of the best values in Michigan. The Course is in great condition.
Slippery Yet True Greens
A great place to play! Even with the buckets of rain we've had recently; the course is in great shape. The greens will hold an approach shot that lands more vertical than horizontal. The greens roll true but are slippery or, there is extra gravity on the putting surface.
Tee Boxes are level and well maintained!
Fairways are at times tight and other times wide open just begging you to let your "Big Dog" bark!
The staff is first rate...very polite, very friendly and they always have a smile on their faces. The grounds crew stops what they are doing while you make you shot. They keep the course in great shape and when you factor in the amount of play this course gets they are masters of their profession.
Great value!
Good place to play 18 or 27 and it is walkable!
Excellent Value for the money
Course was in very good condition the greens were in excellent condition. Overall a challenging layout but can be confusing where the next hole is located with 27 holes intertwined.
3x9's and great greens.
I'm a big fan of Centennial Acres. It's got a good variety of holes between the three nines, also helps in getting out faster if it's busy. There's more elevation change than most area courses which is a plus. It's got a couple of open shots off the fairway, but most of the time you have to think about where you need to hit your second from. I've played all over the Mid-Michigan/Brighton area so far this year and Centennial's greens are the best overall yet. There are NO temporary greens and all holes open for play as of yesterday. Never taken the carts so can't comment on that. Will definitely play again.
