Daytona is a very enjoyable course.
We've played Daytona before, but this was the first time we played it this summer. A slower foursome let us (a threesome) play through on the second hole and we were able to play at a comfortable pace. The breeze picked up after a couple holes on what would become a very hot day. I'd forgotten the unique challenge that many of Daytona's holes offer. The second shot on #8 and #11 come to mind. We had a great time at a bargain price and we will be back before long.
great value on a nice day
Dreaded 5 some of old, impolite geezers ahead of us- never thought to let a faster 3 some thru. Skipped a hole to pass them. Another group followed our lead. Daytona in great shape after lots of rain and sun- greens in best shape ever for Daytona.
This course has great greens.
One of my personal favorites, very hilly with elevated greens puts a premium on your short game.
The was in ok shape for the rain we had this spring.
The course was in pretty good shape. The rough was tolerable. It can get overly long.
Great course!
This course is in great shape. I like playing it because it has some interesting and challenging holes and the prices are reasonable. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Its in the country with great views and challenges
I like this course partly because it is out int hte country with surrounding farm land.. It also has a variety of hole challenges with up and down fair ways and latteral hazards that cause you to very accurate or very cautious. Very pleasant course
A regular for us in Summer
The course is not tough but has a few challenges. We've had a lot of rain this spring and the fairway is longish. Kind of like hitting off the first cut edge on a bent grass course. We will definitely go back numerous times this summer.
Excellent
The fairways and greens are in perfect shape.....the staff were wonderful and helpful.
Every hole is different.
I enjoyed the different elevation changes that all courses do not have. Some of the fairways get a little rough in a golf cart, even at slow speeds. It was after a heavy rain and the bunkers were full of water.
Moderate challenge, great value.
I have played this course many times over the last 15 years or so, and continue to return because its a very good value for my golfing dollar. The course itself is not all that difficult for a mid to low handicapper, but the course is very well maintained, especially the greens. There are generous landing areas, and not much sand to speak of, but water does come into play on several holes, and a couple of the greens are small, elevated and tough to hold. (especially number 10). The clubhouse offers a nice bar selection and a pretty decent menu. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating. There is a small range and putting green for a pre round warm up. Overall a nice little course that will scratch your golfing itch, but wont beat you up too bad while doing it.
Needs improving
Fairways are in rough shape. First cut rough not constitute. Carts allowed close to greens
Tee box yardage makes no sense
Daytona has changed number of tee boxes from 4 to 3, eliminating the blue tees. What is strange is the White tees are 6339 yards, the Gold Tees are 5373 yards and the Red tees are 5365 yards.... 8 yards difference from the Reds to the Gold? I do not understand the reasoning for this. Last year and for many years before that, the Gold Tees were around 5800 yards (+/-) which seemed a reasonable yardage between the Whites and the Reds.
Nice pace, nice shape.
Beutiful night. Nice quick round. Low score of the year so far.
friendly staff, course is long & open, good golf value
The staff are friendly and helpful. This is a family owned and operated country golf course... expect do-it-yourself value on a nice layout. The course if long and open with minimal hazards... shorter hitters should play from the up tees.
A fun course to play, with a great staff of friendly people.
With holes of different elevation, Daytona is a beautiful course, and has just the right amount challenge for the average to better golfer. Even a bad shot is recoverable, with out losing a ball. I live mostly on Social Security, and the online special alows my grandson and I to be able to play once a week, where I can't afford to play other courses.
A Lot of Up and Down
Most approach shots are uphill to unseen greens. The fairways are "washboards" with no roll and, totally unpredictable bounces. Driving range is just a field with some markers and no tee box area. Practice green doubles for chipping and chipping area is only a foot or two off the green.
Greens were well taken care of and receptive to the average player.
A great place to play and a fantastic value
One of my favorite places to play, I've played approximately 30 rounds at Daytona over the last 3 years. The course is always well maintained and the staff does an excellent job of keeping a good pace and are just great in general. I love the layout because it mixes a variety of long and short holes as well as dog legs and elevation changes.
Can't beat their discounted Tee times
Very good discounts on golfnow . Nice course, open play. Considering the dry summer, well maintained.
Friendly staff.
I like to play there at least once a year
There are areas in the fairways that are quite bumpy but, outside of that issue the course was well kept and very playable.
