Can’t wait to go back in the sprinf
Went there on a high recommendation from a coworker. Was lucky to have a day off with good weather for December. Took the hour drive to give it a shot. Was not disappointed. Had to postpone tee time about 30 mins for frost, but wasn’t bad. Was first one out and by time I made the turn, the course has filled quickly. Only thing o can say that was bad, they removed all the tee box markers for the winter. They said they had issues with them being stolen lately. Tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways were really good. Greens were pretty good. Some greens had ball marks that weren’t fixed, but you can’t control lazy golfers. Greens were very challenging. Crazy slope and breaks. Was a fun round amd can’t wait to go back in the spring.
Winter play
The course is still really taken care of for December. Just wish they had some sort of tee box markings.
Golf in December!
We had a great round! Any time you can golf in December it can’t be bad. Golf course was in excellent condition.
Best public course in central Missouri
Great layout, excellent conditions as always. Can’t wait to play it in the spring or summer next year. Forgot how good the layout and conditions were. For the price, worth the hour and fifteen drive I have make to play it. Very few public courses have this quality of conditions. I’ll be back again soon.
Can’t wait to get back
I would have to agree with Riggs, this is the best value in golf around here!
Tanglewood Golf Course
Nice course. Nice layout. Course was in good shape. I recommend and will play it again.
Great value
We’re from Florida in town to visit son at Mizzoo. Fast greens in great condition. Nice fairways. You pay a price if you miss the fairway. Wish we had time to play a second round. Recommend early tee time as it looked like the course filled up after us. We basically had the course to ourselves with a 9 am tee time on a Friday. Staff in the clubhouse were very friendly, it was a great experience. We’ll be back.
Great Course
Was in Columbia, MO for work and had a day to play golf. Found this great course. Well worth the 25 min drive and the $34 green fee. Course was in great shape, fairways were like carpet, greens were excellent. Great layout. With my job I have been able to play all over the US. This course is up there in my top 5. Will definitely play this course again when back in town. Highly recommend.
Awesome course!!
We live over 2 hours away & we come & play whenever we get the chance. It is always in great shape - fairways, greens, etc. Also great price. The staff is the best too!
The highlight of this round for me was I got my first hole in one!
Definitely recommend playing this course!!!
Hidden Gem
If you are playing golf if mid-Missouri, Tanglewood in Fulton, MO. is one of the best public courses in the state. Greens, tee boxes, and fairways are all in good shape and well manicured. Employees were very friendly and the course is very easy to access from the highway. The links style is evident and intriguing holes are the norm. Sand traps have a very dense sand/gravel mix which is different than the feel of bunker shots, but are well maintained. Pace of play was very slow on the day I played, but tolerable. Overall a great value for the price!
A PERFECT GEM...
It really is...perfect (well, as close to perfect as a public course can be.). The best way I can explain it is it’s a beautiful blend of midwestern rolling hills with a blend of traditional links elements. The zoysia fairways and tees are comparable to courses that cost 2-3 times as much, The greens are fast, smooth and in excellent condition. It’s a challenge to every level of golfer with demanding 180 - 210 yard par 3s And 440 yard par 4s.(from the blue tees). The white tees take off just enough to not frustrate the average golfer and the red tees are manageable for the seniors. It has a driving range with well maintained zoysia and an ample size practice green that is equally fast as the greens on the course. The greens keeper is doing an incredible job. I wish I lived closer to this course. I wouldn’t just play it more I would become a member. It would be worth every penny. Can’t wait to play it again.
I've played this course several times and it is always in good condition. This was the best condition I've ever seen the course. Fairways were great and greens were amazing!
