Crystal Mountain Resort boasts two 18-hole championship golf courses, Mountain Ridge and Betsie Valley. Both are classic examples of northern Michigan golf, sprawling across hills and valleys and through mature forests, but they each offer a different set of challenges. Mountain Ridge was added after the original Betsie Valley Course. Carved from a mountainside, the golf course covers a range of elevation changes from subtle to dramatic. The undulating terrain provides not only several challenges, but also scenic respite with panoramic views of the surroundings forests and hills. The layout is tucked away amongst towering pines, which frame the fairways and greens. Accuracy is immensely important on this course, as is a good strategy for each hole. The occasional water hazard comes into play and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout.

It doesn't get any better than this...

Staff was very friendly and helpful (even greeted by the head pro at the start), course was in immaculate shape , pro shop, cart girl and refreshment stands were fully stocked and reasonable costs. Course tests all of your skills but not so tuff that you couldn't recover if you have one poor shot.
Definitely a must play to experience north woods setting. I will be returning :)

Nice layout and plenty of fun

Course is in great condition. Several challenging holes and several opportunities for birdies. Great finishing holes (17 & 18).
Staff could use a refresher course to make us feel more welcome.

Beautiful course (Mountain Ridge)

The Mountain Ridge course was a beautiful setting for a round of golf. I was unfortunate enough to get a tee time right behind a 20+ person outing and did not actually get to finish the round due to prior engagements later that night. It was a little frustrating that the group was not kept up to pace. After finishing hole 12 we were already 45 minutes behind pace, with no sign of it picking up any time soon so we had to leave. Anyway, the course looked great and it is a shame I didn't get to finish the last 6 holes as they looked like a lot of fun.

Couse has a great layout.

I would definitely play Mountain again at regular prices.

Played yesterday at the Golf. Now reduced price at 60% off the October price at this resort. During this time of year, with greens being 50% of ones game, and being duly plugged, it was easier to take at the reduced price.

Scenery was beautiful, time of year, couse had very few players due to time of year and during the week. Leaves were blown off the fairways, fairways were generous and the view from the tee box were good.

Greens were plugged, might have had a little more top dressing on them, they were very quick, and would certainly be a challange during the regular season.

Staff was great, friendly, and the carts were electric.

Had a wonderful experience and would return.
