First Time Back In A Couple Years
The course was in the best shape I’ve ever played it. The greens rolled true and at a good speed. Staff was great. A shame they’re turning this into another landfill for Canadian trash at the end of the year. Fun course. Will be missed.
Disappointed
The course was in decent condition despite the previous days rain. Some spots were holding water, but that was to be expected. My gripe about the course was I booked an online tee time for 18 holes and was told at the course I could only play 9 due to leagues. The course offered an 18 hole round that you pay before hand, but then pulls a bait and switch at the course. I was not offered a refund. At that time it was too late to go play somewhere else. I would not go back and don't recommend anyone to play there again based solely on the customer service and the bait and switch tactic. Really a shame considering the course has a fun layout and is in decent shape.
great value
right off of I 275 great location. course was well groomed.great value for the money
Course nice but...
Course is nice and is quite open so a good place to build confidence. Just be aware that Course borders a landfill and if the wind is blowing a certain direction you get some interesting smells. Again nice course but.....
Rainy days and aerated greens!
Rain made round end at hole 11, oh well! Course is well maintained and has a nice layout with rewarding holes and club selection being a necessary thing....
However nothing was noted online about greens bein aerated (already) and that ruins the putting and with many courses available at the Same price I was disappointed the site didn't mention that...
So nice course but with weather and greens it became a wasted outing.
The Mosquito's were terrible!!
The mosquito's on the course were so bad that if it wasn't for one of the employees giving bug spray (which I normally have but ran out) I would not of continued to play, and this started on the first hole. They should of warned the players before going, since all the employees knew how bad they were.
Saturday Golf
Last minute decision to play. Was crowded, guess should expect it. Decent conditions, short course, close to home.
People, please fix your ball marks!
Putting surface
Putting greens were in great shape.
Great Value for a Great Course!
This was my first Golfnow booking. It was so simple. We checked in and off we went. Had a great experience at the course. Will definitely use again!
you get what you pay for
Greens were torn up and the speed was so slow it took five or six holes to adjust to them really being that bad. The sand traps were mostly filled with water after just a brief shower the night before. The sand that wasn't under water was unplayable. We had to drive the cart at half speed or off the paths to make sure we missed the craters on the cart path cement. Nothing to stand out about the course. There are much better courses in close enough price ranges nearby. Go to one of those.
Not again
good course if you want to practice irons off the tee.
pace of play was horrific and not a ranger in sight for the 2 groups ahead of us. won't go back.
far too congested
Today, sadly, will be the last time I play this course. The players club has turned this course into a mass gathering. While this is very good for the employees, it has made it unbearable for golfers. I've tee'd off as early as Noon and haven't been able to finish more than 12 holes before work at 5. The fairways are destroyed with unfixed divots, the greens are littered with HUNDREDS of unrepaired ball marks and when you add that with booking 4 groups per hole, it's a recipe for disaster. I understand the membership is unbeatable but for low handicap golfers this place is not for you. I hope this opens up surrounding courses.
a few bad apples
When I signed up for their players club, everything sounded too good to be true...and it was. I was told I would have NO PROBLEM golfing as a single (being a 7.2 hcp I wouldn't be holding anyone nor rushing anyone) that lasted one week. The starter Ed isn't too fond of young players who wear flat bill hats, every time he spoke to me he was direct and rude. I did nothing to deserve this. One of the girls in the clubhouse would literally roll her eyes if you walked in while she was eating or sitting down, heaven forbid you had to make her work at WORK. Everyone else is perfectly friendly and comforting! As for the course...it's clogged with people. Ball marks on the greens are absolutely astounding. The bunkers are hard pan dirt. No one fixes or replaces their divots, and for the quality of people who golf there? THREE TIMES in one round I had three different seniors pick up my ball just feet away from the fairway, and would get nasty and throw my ball back no where near where they snatched it when I confronted them about it!! A few bad apples and extremely slow play make it cringing...but the players club is just too good of a deal for an every day golfer like me.
Ok course, but....
The landfill behind the golf course is something to stand for when you are playing. The smell horrible.
Beautiful course that is a little rough at this point in April.
My 14 year old son and I played the Woodlands for the first time and thought that the course was very beautiful. The course has lots of water (12-13 holes by my count) and I love courses with water views. I was impressed by the layout and challenge of the water, but the course if very short (6,120 from the tips).
Even though it is very early in the season for Michigan golf, the greens and bunkers were in BAD shape. The greens had been aerated. All you could do was just try to get it near the hole with your first putt. The ball would often leave the putter face on line and take a detour left or right. The bunkers were hard, bare and muddy in many spots. I decided a while back that I will not try to play out of bunkers like that anymore.
We paid $13 for 18 with a cart using GolfNow so the price was great for Saturday golf, but I would have been upset if we had paid more to play with the course in this kind of shape. We will be back in a few months when there are leaves on the trees, smooth greens and sand in the bunkers. But, again, that's the great thing about GolfNow. You can try out courses for a low price so no matter what you encounter, you get to play a lot of golf for the money.
Very short course
The back 9 holes are very very short, I think I used a driver on 1 hole, wish it was longer. They just aerated the greens and had sand all over greens so they were kind of a mess. The wind changed directions about our 15th hole and had a rancid smell from the garbage dump adjacent to the course. The price was right I got 18 holes with a cart for $13, that was the best part.
Will miss this course if it does revert back ti Waste Management. I have enjoyed playing the course and the staff when I am in Michigan for the summers. Definitely a fun course.
