A tough course just turned public
This was always a forbidden fruit. I lived close but could not play. well, its public now. It is kept in great condition. The staff is very friendly. The other golfers here tend to be retired or business types and are quite friendly. Everyone is and feels welcome here though, play this one!
The course plays longer than the card. The fairways are fair but demanding. The bunkers are kept very well.
A new favorite
Woodcrest is an excellent course. I first discovered this course when playing in a tournament with my golf league. I couldn't wait to come back and play again. Very challenging. Excellent layout.
Fabulous Woodcrest
One of the top courses I have played. A must play !!
Woodcrest C.C.
Very good course, which was also difficult. It was well maintained and enjoyable. It is a bit pricey, but that's most likely why it was so well maintained.
Great area course
If u want a beautiful course that's close by and don't wanna travel over an hour to some of the other places then this is ur spot.
Great Course
The fairways were pristine and the greens quick. I would come back again in a heartbeat.
Really???
The course was great. But get this?? You can not buy alcohol unless you are a member. Well, I was thinking of becoming one but--- not after getting sent away from the bar at the end of the round with my 3 guest. They will take your money for food but not drink?? How can you be open to the public but not treat everyone the same??? Sounds like there still a little uppity!!!!!
Course conditions similar to best private courses
Best on course conditions I have experienced
in South Jersey. Having been a member of two
private courses in North Jersey, I would say that
the overall experience, both visually and challenging is not to be missed. The course is
difficult, but the layout and scenery will offset
any high scoring. Fast greens, well maintained
bunkers, manicured fairways and manageable
rough all are part of this outstanding golf club.
Must Play
The course lived up to the high praise and reviews that I read. What makes this course stand out is the conditions and layout. The edging on the grass and bunkers are neat and the layout is challenging. The greens are some of the fastest I've played on. Because of the $100+ regular tee times, the course doesn't get much play, which is why the conditions are as nice as they are. Be on the lookout for the hot deals. I happened to get lucky and find a $50 deal. As nice as this course is, I don't think its worth anymore than $70-80.
Fun time!
Great course but definitely challenging. Sand traps EVERYWHERE! Staff was awesome. See you again soon!
one of best public courses in NJ
Great golf course, great shape, nice staff. GolfNow makes it a real margin
Still "country club" as to layout and condition
My wife and I played at 2:50pm for a twilight rate of $40 each w/cart for the best value I've had in golf. Overall, course conditions were excellent despite really hot weather of late. The rough was as thick and uniform as you could want so replace the three iron/hydrid with a seven wood. I couldn't believe the number of holes with significant elevation changes here in the primarily flat Cherry Hill area. That and the great amount of trees/water make it an unexpected visual delight to play. Not overally long but definite degree of difficulty with lots of dog legs, tight fairways, thick rough, water and numerous fairway and green side bunkers. Good test of driving accuracy and short making skills. The only negative is a lack of procedures for easily getting you to you to the first tee with clubs and cart after checking in if you're a first timer. Resturant hamburger/fries was worth the $10 but you can't buy alcohol unless you have at least the $500 social membership.
Great Golf Course
I got a hot deal on a Sunday for Woodcrest Country Club and it was so worth it. A William Flynn design, this golf course was a fantastic layout. The conditions were excellent as well. The greens were very quick and the rough was pretty tough. I wouldn't necessarily play this course at the average rate of $100+ but for $50, it was definitely worth it. The pace of play was great as well. I played in 3.5 hours.
Classic Design Must Play
If you are a fan of classic designs, then this is course is a must play. Plenty of variety that will test every club and shot in your bag. Greens are some of the best in the area and maintained at private club standards. A ton of fun to play and worth the drive from PA.
bobbo
A great classic course that even at the whites is a nice challenge. Difficult ruff to find balls and greens were perfect. You would not know your in SJersey with these elevations, don't let this course slip away into condos with the corrupt cherry hill politicians
Worst management
First of all I'd like to say I play this course 2-3x a week for the past 2 seasons and I've never had anything but a pleasant experience. However, this round I had friends come visit from harrisburg and it was there first time playing the course which I would consider one of the tougher courses in nj. There was nobody there which is normal because the rate is $75-$125 daily. We were playing the round with no interruptions with nobody in front or behind us and on hole # 11 we ran into some trouble. Very narrow tee shot we all hit it in the stuff. With nobody else on the course we are taking out time finding our balls and out of no where a little angry man is lurking in the shadows watching us. We notice this little guy and say "can we help u?" and his response was "now I see why every hole is backed up." "Who are you?" We responded. "I run this joint that's who I am you guys are holding this whole course up you aren't welcome here again and pick up the pace!!" Then he sped away in his cart powered by the steam coming from his ears. We had no idea where he was coming from or why he did this because the rest of the round still nobody playing around us, just us. The test of the round he was following us watching us. From that point forward it was horrible the worst $300 spent. I want to be clear this was not Phil, Anthony, or frank who all know me personally since I basically live at this course. This was a guy who sits in his office allday everyday and never comes out except for this day when he must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed and just wanted to puff his chest out!! Well mr. manager your a horrible leader and have no business skills because you should choose another profession where you never have to speak with anyone!
Great Golf Now Buy
Best course that I have ever been on. Low players today, like it was my own course.Greens and Fairways excellent. roughs are challenging but not excessively bad. Well marked course. I'll be back.
Super Slow play
I've played here several times during the week and was very happy.
However, this Saturday the pace of play was extremely slow.
I was playing with another person and a foursome of 2 men and woman wouldn't let us play through.
I left after 10 holes.
Ranger came up on the 11th and said one foursome was holding everything up.
The Course was Great
I have a great round of golf, the rough was high, but the fairways and greens were outstanding.
Golf gem open to public
This course is probably the best I've played in South Jersey. Now that it's open to the public and greens fees are reasonable ($75-100) you'd be foolish not to play it. Wonderful greens, well kept tee boxes and good slope for the area make this a good test of golf. Pace of play was very good. We finished in 3 hours 45 minutes.
The membership requirement to purchase alcohol is not the course's fault. This is the town and the liquor license that they have at the course. The management has been trying to work with the town to change this, but they have been unwilling. They are even willing to purchase a full liquor license, but were told they can only buy one that is available for sale. About $1.5 Million dollars.
