Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Clubview/Valleyview Course
About
The Clubview nine, which opened in 1963, is the original course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, located in northwest New Jersey, approximately one hour from New York City. Offering a traditional mix of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s, accuracy is key on the Byron Phoebus-designed course. The Clubview nine closes with two very demanding holes, the long par-4 eighth, with an approach shot over water, and the par-3 ninth, which is surrounded by water.

In Consideration of....
.... way too much rain (every week!), this course is way above average.
It's not the course's (sole) responsibility to clean up bunkers, fairway divots. Fellow players need to do the right thing.
Excellent golf experience as well as a very nice wedding venue (especially for pictures) adds my fiancee! :)
farmstead
good deal too bad the other 2 players were very slow !hacking and old man was very slow turned a 4hr round into 4 40 hrs some people dont belong on a golf course
Course run properly
There were many many cars there as our tee time was 630am . . . The lower lot was 75% full but what do you wany for the first really nice day this season. Most groups played at a reasonal pace and there was no major issues . . . We like to play here and look forward for the chance when available.
Great value for what it costs.
I play here often. I enjoy it every time. Pace of play would be my only complaint.
great day at Farmstead
If you play from the blues this is definitely a challenging day... whites not so much, but course is in good shape and the pace of play and price cannot be beat... definitely recommend this course to others...
Good conditions for mid march. Was cart path only but almost didn’t need to be. Greens recently aerated so were slow and bumpy. Lakes and ponds were filled to capacity. A fun round.
INCREDIBLY RUDE STAFF
Called today to inquire about a single rider in a cart. When they told me they now charge double ($36), I asked why and the lady was very rude in her response and eventually hung up on me. I called back and the manager picked up and said he was the one who made this decision. He was also rude in providing his explanation, simply stating they'd lose revenue if they let single riders go in a cart. I totally understand charging more for a single rider, but charging double is criminal & there was simply no need for the rude response(s).
The best value
When courses all over are getting ridiculously expensive on weekends and even weekdays the price is here is so unbelievably fair and sustainable to play golf each weekend. Love it here. Challenging but fair and always a good time. Love it here.
Starter insisted on me riding with a person I didn't know in a 3some i didn't know even though course was not crowded and there were many carts... then charged me $9 to have my own cart even though I went out with a different 2some... I've played here many times and suddenly they decide to be stingy about the carts.???.. 5 hours in a cart with a person u don't know is not my idea of a fun round... I may not be going back...and I think they owe me $9 refund.
Played day after night of rain ,course was pretty good shape some puddles in the bunkers but to play in December great time. Looking forward to playing again in the spring.
tough time finding golf balls
always love playing this course. scenic play. friendly staff. but it was a tough day looking for golf balls under the leaves. lost several in the fairway.
