Bowling Green Golf Club
About
Bowling Green Golf Club is in the heart of northern New Jersey, surrounded by miles of idyllic countryside. An abundance of mature oaks and towering red pines characterizes the scenic course. This quick, shady layout is a great round for walkers. The golf course has a classic links design that is easily played in less than four hours. Like most traditional links courses, the gently undulating terrain has the perfect pitch and roll. It also provides each hole with unique challenges that require accuracy and strategy. Trees heavily line the fairways, presenting some of the course's most formidable challenges. Bowling Green Golf Club's front nine is slightly more forgiving than the back nine, which incorporates the natural ponds and wetlands on a few holes. There are also some tricky doglegs to contend with.

6th Tee Photo submitted by agurango on 05/24/2013
Slow play
Left the course after 15 holes as It was already more than 4 hours and 15 minutes. Saw the ranger once on the ninth hole encouraging us to keep us the pace although we had waited in every shot for the first eight holes.
A picture perfect day
The nicest day of the year so far low 80’s low humidity. This was the groups first time playing this course. We all agreed one of the nicest courses we played all season. Fairways were perfectly groomed and the greens were just perfect! Highly recommend a visit to Bowling Green!
Solid Course
Pace of play was a little slow and many tee boxes chewed up but overall an enjoyable course with an excellent layout. Could easily become a true 5 star course with more attention to tee boxes.
Course is all around one of the best around.
Place is perfect. Range right next to the 1st tee box, accommodating staff, every hole is gorgeous, difficulty is there but not impossible even for an amateur. The vibes on a summer night are incredible!
Expensive
Having booked on GN - couldn’t cancel (rainy cold conditions). Yes this early in the season 3/25, kind of have to expect cold wet, but when it started to hail on the first hole kind of knew it would be hard. Sun came out on number2 but, wasn’t expecting to sit behind a novice 4sum group the entire rest of round - where were the marshals? Course might be a lot nicer in the real season, but it was expensive for GN. Guess I was expecting too much?
Classy public club
I’ve been playing Bowling Green for years, sparingly as it’s pricey. Let me say starting from the top down the staff has always conducted themselves like gentleman. Recently I played and booked on GN. Through an error the aeration alert was not activated. The starter in a most generous way asked us to come back and play again next year and offered us a full credit. Complimentary driving range, humble accommodating staff. In a word classy organization could not recommend a course more than this one in NJ.
