Nice staff, painful round
Stuck behind an etiquette-less K-pop 4-ball. Took 4.5 hours to walk. Loud and rude - did not fix ball marks, did not let faster groups play thru, slow as molasses in Antarctica. Lousy golfers to boot - were lasering pitch shots from right in front of the green. Never again...
Course in Great Condition!
Loved everything about the course - was in perfect condition. Slow at times, could use rangers to speed up play.
Mercer Oaks East
The west course had an outing scheduled and that seemed cause the east side to be backed up. Pace of play was a bit challenging.
Great course
Always enjoyed playing here. Would recommend to others. Course was in great shape
Top Notch East Course
Having played this course many times since it opened in the 90's, and also having moved to Raleigh, NC and experienced entirely different course layouts, turf and fast greens, I was pleasantly surprised at many of the improvements and course conditions.
Quick round
Started at 4pm...finished at 7:30pm...walked course in this time...very fun
Golf was great. Staff was great. We finished at 6 pm and the kitchen was closed. Seen a great menu. Would have been nice to have it open until the golfers finish
Plugged fairways
Many of the fairways were recently plugged / aerated. The few that were not were excellent .
Pace of play was a bit slow
A boast for The Oaks
Oaks East In fantastic shape after the soaking rains it received in early Summer putting everything lush and green, which is always tough to get that mid summer around here. Greens not lightning fast, but not too slow and the rolls are true, plus well hit approaches don’t roll off every back which is all you can ask for. Best public course in Central Jersey, in my opinion.
Slow play.
I walked the east course. Played with another gentlemen that was very nice who had a cart. Had a foursome in front of us with carts. Waited on every hole with every shot. 5 hour round. Started at 1:30 and didn't see cart girl until 3.5 hours into round. Does she cover both east and west? Not sure. But 90 plus degrees out. No water to drink on course. I was dying. If it wasn't for Bob, the nice gentlemen I played with, I would have left after 9 holes. Course in great shape though. Knuckleheads need to fix ball marks on greens. Tons of them.
Mercer Oaks East
Brilliant early morning, staff that makes you feel as if you are old friends, and excellent course conditions all came together for an enjoyable round. I’ll be back…
Water
As we prepared to tee off we were told to grab the cart girl when we see her - she was working both the East and West course and that there was no where to refill a water bottle on the course.
It was the hottest day of the year,
Mercer Oaks has the 2 quality courses, played West last week and East for the first time in a few years,
Good conditions - no complaints but they really should provide water stations on the courses.
