FIRST TIME GREAT TIME
This was my first time playing twin hills, Some of the guys from my Sunday group have said good things about it. The course was in great condition. The fairways were cut just right and so very green in all the right places. There were several blind shots and treacherous pin placements but I truly enjoyed the round and I will be playing there twice next week because of the great price and value provided by GOLFNOW. I would highly recommend to those in the area whether permanent or visiting. I met several members and staff and they were very friendly and welcoming.
Surprisingly good West side of Rochester
The biggest, baddest greens of any public course in the 5 county Rochester, NY region. They were in excellent condition. Somewhat confusing green to tee continuity, would seem impossible to walk.
Excellent maintained tees
Best forward tee boxes I have seen from a public golf course. Its nicely mowed and watered so that I have no problem putting my tee into the ground unlike other courses.
Slow play and incorrect pricing
It took us 4 and a half hours to play 18 holes because the course was over booked.
On top of that the advertised price was $30 and clubhouse charged us $40 and even after showing them the advertised price
First Time 2022
The course is in good shape with some really challenging holes. Overall, a good course for an average golfer. The new management seems to be struggling though. A 2-some in front of us t'd off followed by a 4-some while 2 of us were kept waiting. Could have saved us ½ hr.
Summer conditions
The course was firm with the lack of rain but the fairways, tees and greens were good with the greens a bit firm so you could play bump and run around them. There’s a few spots where the rough needs mowed and some trees where the grass was 8-10” tall making a challenge to find a golf ball underneath (I know, you shouldn’t be in the trees in the first place). The pace slowed down considerably on the back 9 and we couldn’t figure out if some groups stopped at the turn or what. We pulled up to the 10th tee and I timed it at 31 min until we walked off the 10th green. It picked up a bit over the back nine but two of our foursome packed it in on the 16th tee when we became the 4th group on the hole. Other than the waiting it was a enjoyable round.
tight fairways, excellent greens
I have played in a league for many years and have always found the greens very challenging and in good condition and the course a tight layout, and very challenging! The fairways are not in the best condition but playable. The last few years I have had the opportunity to play numerous courses between Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse and would rank Twin Hills in the top 1/3 for an enjoyable round of golf.
